You see Qatar's refusal to sell alcohol in stadiums as a disgrace, I see this refusal as another illustration of the clash of civilizations that pokes a finger in the eye of Western culture. This time it happens on the biggest stage of all.
What book did they take?
Hooligans need not to buy tickets. Not enough alcohol on the planes to keep their blood-alcohol levels sustained let alone survive a stay in country.
Some paperback I was reading. Nothing sexy.
No....can’t be. Only white European countries were and still are as we’ve been told by our betters.
And of course, Anheuser Busch (In-Bev) has paid millions to have exclusive rights for beer sales.
As mentioned before on this thread, there are many reasons the decision to have this in Qatar was a bad idea. Only the severe corruption of FIFA was enough to overcome those objections.

He sounds like a drunk.
My understanding is Qatar initially agreed to permit alcohol sales on the stadium grounds, but just now changed its mind. They changed the rules after everyone bought tickets.
Gotcha. I wasn’t aware of that.
They changed it the last moment after most arrived... uts called Taqiy - a deception.
Good for you. God bless you, your family.
No fricking way I ever would have wanted to live there, even if we would have been on a compound with other Americans (where wine was home made).

I watched a “Locked up Abroad” episode where a Scottish chef with a job in Saudi Arabia made his own wine for his fellow American workers. He got caught and ended up in prison there. One does not want to fool around with booze or drugs in a Muslim country.
Back then things were different. My dad worked in the Middle East for years and years - Kuwait and Beruit included. Can’t go there now!
