Not yet.
I quit watching when they had Jesus studying the night before the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus is Almighty God, He knows everything. He never has to study. Unbiblical stuff all over the place. Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confress, that Jesus Christ is Lord.
I thought that was pretty weak as well.
I was enjoying the series until then but that did put a damper on it for me as well.
no but i helped fund it.
Jesus was also human. He worked to get things right.
Not yet, excited to see it on axstreaming platform. Wont pay theater prices these days.
RE: Jesus practicing the sermon on the mount.
Reinforces the human and God nature of Christ, fully God AND fully man.
The sermon on the mount is about Christ sharing who God is in human terms and what our response should be.
I would pray about watching The chosen, ask you Heavenly Father to give you wisdom on this series. It doesn’t line up to the Bible, Do some searching on the cons on the Chosen on YouTube. You will find it has the Mormons behind it, which is a cult. Ask in Jesus Name. For God so Loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Jesus said he must be born again.
Going today at noon.
But as a Bible teacher, I catch many errors in most depiction about Jesus. I have the most difficulty teaching about the Sabbath and Christmas and Easter. I keep giving them chapter and verse and read it with them and they still insist what Grandma taught them is correct. Most people have never even finished the whole Bible and attend church less than 10 times a year. Jesus never observed Easter or Christmas and God specifically said these days are an abomination in Eze 8 and Jer 10 :3-4 about trees in the house.I left a church because the pastor said Jesus stopped at the woman at the well because He was tired and didn't know He would meet the woman there. I said He was God, and he said He was a man.... (get this!) AT THAT TIME. Jesus took the route through Samaria in order to have the conversation with the woman so it would be written in Scripture for our learning. The Holy Spirit Jesus had speaking to Him is the same Spirit that speaks to us Christians. He doesn't have to practice.
That is a fair criticism of the show, however have you considered that scene being more about Jesus teaching Mathew to use his God given talent.
Assume you have children if you don’t.
As a homeschool family I spent many hours with my kids having then “Teach” me how to add/subject/multiply/divide.. was it because I needed their help to teach me this skill or was it more about them demonstrating or dare I say practice their skills for THEIR benefit?
- the names are the same, the facts have been changed to fool the innocent.. Not worth our time.
Im like, ok. I liked the first rambo movie but never confused it with reality.
Keep in mind Dallas and Amanda are always reminding people that “Bible Preach”. Using the series as a lesson in the differences between the Bible and a TV show.
I love the hours of discussion in small and large groups discussing so “Chosen-isms” that help the storyline but are NOT found word for word scripture. I love the Artistic Liberty that presents these opportunities to think and discuss questions like
Hmmmm. Did it really happen like that or could it have been more like this or that. I have learned to be content with Bible Preach and TV show entertainment
May I suggest using the shows popularity to have “real talk” with fans who may not be a Biblically rooted as you are…. Rather that refuse to watch the show…may I respectfully request using it as an opportunity to have REAL Bible Study?
A necessity is: I'm going to enjoy true theatre popcorn with the showing.
Yes, pray.
No, Mormons are not behind it.
They, the developer, producer's, cast, and crew recognize the Bible's authority and want to introduce Jesus to a generation of people who don't know the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
There is much more to be said in defense of this dramatic TV show. Additionally, the show get's their funding through individuals and not corporate television companies'. They use 'pay it forward' as a means to receive support.
If you want, you can look into the extra articles that have been posted on "The Chosen" app.
