President Trump New Interview Today: "Ron (DeSantis) Could Have Been 'More Gracious' About My Endorsement, Win"
NewsNation ^ | November 8, 2022 | Markie Martin

Posted on 11/08/2022 3:23:25 PM PST by Macho MAGA Man

Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday his endorsements won Ron DeSantis the Florida governor’s seat. But he said DeSantis, now seen as Trump’s primary rival for the GOP presidential nomination, could have been more gracious.

Trump spoke exclusively to NewsNation about DeSantis, midterms and election integrity. The full interview with NewsNation’s Markie Martin will air at 6 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. CT on NewsNation. Use our Channel Finder page here to learn how to watch NewsNation.

“He was not going to be able to even be a factor in the race,” Trump said, referring to the GOP gubernatorial primary. “And as soon as I endorsed him, within moments, the race was over,” Trump said. “I got him the nomination. He didn’t get it. I got it, because the minute I made that endorsement, he got it.”

He sometimes says things that aren’t very flattering. To him.

Ya, he better back off DeSantis or he’s going to lose my support and I’m betting I’m not alone on that by a long shot.

Posted this on another Trump/DeSantis thread today:

Trump will never be a typical "smile in your face" then "stab you in the back" type. I am waiting to hear more on this issue. It's a 50/50 chance Trump has some disturbing news concerning the company DeSantis' has been keeping. I'll wait to hear more, before I wring my hands. As Fletcher said in Josey Wales:" He's got the first move. I owe him that."

We owe Trump a lot and we owe Desantis the benefit of the doubt. But where the possibility of keeping company with Bushies etc. is concerned, extreme diligence is essential.

“Grow the he’ll up , Trump.” President Trump is absolutely correct in his statement regarding Governor Desantis. Desantis was way behind in the polls here in Florida. It was only after President Trump came out and wholeheartedly endorsed him that Desantis squeaked out a win.
And, Desantis gave President Trump no credit whatsoever.
Desantis’ policies are good policies. That said, he has the EXACT same issues Cruz has. Zero people skills. Zero Charisma.
And, worse of all like Cruz, Desantis has Zero awareness of these shortcomings.
I am heavily involved in politics here in Florida. These problems are discussed all the time with regard to Governor Desantis.
The Cruz comparison comes up every time national office for our governor is discussed.

Good points there.

To which I’d add: Some extremely pro-Trump folks here (not you, Starboard) are missing the bigger picture. Let’s say Trump is 100% correct about DeSantis.

Trump’s comments are still counterproductive, as they weaken his (Trump’s) position with his own base. Yes, one could call those folks “snowflakes”, and maybe they are. Nevertheless, Trump is starting to give those folks doubts. We see that right here on this thread.

And in politics you need every vote you can get.

I hope those reading thread after thread of this Trump-DeSantis kerfuffle sourced from state media aka enemy propaganda are aware of Divide and Conquer tactics.

I shrug my shoulders as it’s not important in the bigger picture.

But newbies are newbies for a reason.

This tension news was old yesterday, but news idiots got to play you for all you’re worth.

A crying, cussing, backstabbing Karen says what?

You don't criticize a fellow republican in the days before a general election that you have no part in.

Trump's inability to control his ego is why so many people hate him. He hasn't learned anything in eight years. He has gotten worse if the past week is any indication.

I worked hundreds of hours for Trump in 2020 - I'm done.

“Ron DeSantis releases ad indoctrinating his children into Trumpism”
The governor’s policies are not his problem.

You claimed “Desantis gave President Trump no credit whatsoever” which that ad proves is incorrect.

The first words spoken in the ad are specifically in regard to Trump’s endorsement, and the remainder of the ad is a testament to DeSantis’ commitment to “Trumpism” to the extreme of teaching his own children the principles.

I don’t know what else you expect DeSantis to have done to show his reverence, short of bowing before a golden Trump statue, but maybe that’s what some of you expect.

The ad was Ron as a Candidate who was in trouble in his run against a lightweight homosexual mayor with a sketchy past. Said, mayor was unfit to be mayor, never mind a Governor. Yet, Desantis was in trouble before President Trump’s endorsement.
Why? Because that clown mayor came across as personable and charismatic and Ron came across as the exact opposite.
President Trump’s wholehearted endorsement of Desantis was the difference.
Trump’s point is, that AFTER Desantis won the Governor’s office there was little gratitude shown.
In fact, the Governor made moves to separate himself from President Trump when outside money started to pour in to encourage Ron to run against President Trump.

Good luck getting that...trump just runs his mouth but never really lays out his detailed plans for anything. Just complains like a little kid all the time.

“And in politics you need every vote you can get.”

***************

And every dollar you can get. Watch Trump’s donations fall off as a result of his intemperate remarks.

Actually I have been a strong Trump supporter in the past. Donated very generously to his campaigns. But I’m disappointed with Trump at the moment.

Trump does “this” because it is an Art Of War tactic that works extremely well. And the damage done to the enemey is well worth the criticism from supporters. Your reactions are similar to when my Dad complained about Trump saying “that face.” DeSantis is playing his role and will strike back when needed.

Make yourself look weak by sowing division. “I say I’m a better freeper than you two freepers put together.” Now the fools at DU take a screenshot and crow about our infighting for hours. ;)
