Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday his endorsements won Ron DeSantis the Florida governor’s seat. But he said DeSantis, now seen as Trump’s primary rival for the GOP presidential nomination, could have been more gracious.

“He was not going to be able to even be a factor in the race,” Trump said, referring to the GOP gubernatorial primary. “And as soon as I endorsed him, within moments, the race was over,” Trump said. “I got him the nomination. He didn’t get it. I got it, because the minute I made that endorsement, he got it.”

Trump never seems to remember or mention that DeSantis was already a well known leader in the Freedom Caucus who went on TV almost every night defending him from the Mueller probe and all the other attacks he was under.
DeSantis and Gaetz and Jordan were Trump’s three biggest defenders, and did an incredible job of making the case for him, since Trump’s own pick for AG left him out to dry.
So of course Trump endorsed him for Governor, he actually owed DeSantis that, not the other way around.

Well I don’t necessarily agree, but that’s ok. I just think Trump started this revolution and he and we and our MAGA politicians should always be on maximum offense. Desantis should acknowledge Trumps help. It’s Trump’s party and base now. If anything others are causing division within the party by not backing the king (metaphorically speaking). If Trump doesn’t mention this it shows weakness and he is showing right is right no matter what day of the week it is. But I do see your point, I just voted for Trump bc he didn’t go along to get along, he has an agenda and others can follow or get out of the way.

In about 90 minutes we will see Ron Desantis re-elected in one of the largest gubernatorial landslide victories ever, a victory Trump had little to do with.
He will be the biggest rising star in the party.

These attacks on DeSantis have brought me to the point of agreeing with that.
DeSantis should be the 2024 nominee and Trump should support him.
