I dont think the pregnant lady will win. Workers have some protection against unwarranted ‘firings’. Layoffs, not so much.The WARN Act requires notice for mass layoffs. California has additional state level rules. Not necessarily crazy.

I think there’s a law that companies must give 60 days advance notice for mass layoffs over 100 people, or something to that effect. That’s what their lawsuit is about, that he didn’t give notice. But since Musk is giving them 3 months of severance pay, I don’t see the problem, but from a legal standpoint who knows.
