A pollster who correctly predicted Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016 is saying that Americans are prepping to unleash a “red tsunami” in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
Patrick Basham, the polling director at the Democracy Institute, predicted that Republicans will win control of the House and Senate.
The Democracy Institute’s poll of 1,500 “likely voters” predicts the GOP will gain a minimum of 33 to 38 seats in the House, with a “probable gain” of 39 to 51 seats.
At the lowest point, this outcome would give Republicans 245 seats with a majority of 55. At the top end, the GOP could have 265 seats with a majority of 95.
Democrats currently hold a majority with 220 to 212 seats and three vacancies.
The poll does not bode well for Democrats in the Senate either. Democrats have put up a veneer of optimism, hoping to maintain the current 50/50 status quo, giving Kamala Harris the tie-breaking vote.
The Democracy Institute poll suggests that likely voters favor Republicans by 49% to 46%.
This outcome would give Republicans up to 54 seats in the Senate, with Democrats dropping to 46.
In 2016, Basham’s Democracy Institute had said: “The new poll finds Trump establishing a clear lead over Clinton, 50 percent to 45 percent, among decided voters. The outcome nevertheless remains in doubt, as an unusually large number of undecided voters (10 percent) could yet swing the election Clinton’s way, although their eventual, disproportionate support for Trump is the more probable development.”
Do not count your chickens until they cross the road to put all their eggs in one basket.
The GOP will get to that about 10/28/2024
The RINOs will stay firmly in charge of the senate IMO.
If we get that.....ooooh baby! We could then implement real and desperately needed change.
I would propose a blitzkrieg on the deep state and Leftists. Bust up big tech. Strip the 3 counties of occupied Northern Virginia out of the state and give them back to DC (thus making Virginia a red state again). Strip DC of its federal circuit status. Bust up the 9th circuit and appoint a whole bunch more circuit court judges. Fire at least half of federal employees and abolish entire departments - eg department of education, the FIB, etc. Scatter various other now smaller federal departments to small town America. Put the citizenship question back on the federal census and do something to overturn the BS census that was done last time that favored blue states and screwed over red states.
The list goes on and on.
Assuming fraud not an issue, two words: early voting.
So much is in the can from before the shift.
I’m watching Alaska.
If the Kow is gone, Mitch is gone.
“ Mastriano is down double-digits.”
In head to head polls with Shapiro, yes.
Ask yourself how many Republicans that are voting for Oz or other R’s will split their ticket.
My opinion is they won’t.
If the Kow is gone, Mitch is gone.

I hope you’re right but the Turtle has a lot of quiet support.
So if the rats steal this one, then what?
Ballot Box, Jury Box, .............. you know the rest................

Excellent point
I am with you. Polls don’t elect people. Dead or imaginary people do.
This 118th Senate will be remembered for 3 things -- potential SCOTUS replacement or preventing same; sending Fauxi into a public breakdown under cross-exam from Health Committee Chairman Paul with the cameras rolling; and forcing VP F@g onto the Ratchet-In-Chief, tying a millstone to her 2024 chances.
Kemp is dirty, but you're not looking at any polls. That Remington +14 might be on pace. Mrs. Butterworth's best poll -5, is also a small sample with the largest margin of error in that group (NYT/Siena, no surprise). As someone astutely pointed out on another thread, when you're losing in your best poll, yeah, you're gonna lose 99 of 100 times.
So if the rats steal this one, then what?
+++++
If you listen to the Dems closely they have been talking up an election that ends Democracy. We all wonder what the heck they are talking about. Maybe they are just telling us what happens if THE DEMS WIN THIS ELECTION.
