Likely in Response to the “Ron is God” Campaign Ad, President Trump Gives Ron DeSantis a Nickname

During a Pennsylvania MAGA rally tonight, President Trump went through the republican polling for the 2024 nomination contest.

When it came to the second-place polling finisher, President Trump gave the Florida governor a new nickname, “Ron DeSanctimonious.” LOL

Many people were caught off guard by the rather humous slight, aka a shot across the bow as subtle as a brick through a window; however, it’s likely President Trump was responding to the latest, well, rather cringy campaign ad from the Florida governor’s campaign, “Ron is God.”

$200 million in Wall Street and corporate donations buys a lot of hubris. Add that money to the echo-chambered DeSantis campaign branding group, mix in a few detached billionaires amid the cocktail circuit, and what you get is a cringeworthy ad in the same theme as the Ted Cruz campaign in 2016. The similarities are not coincidental.

“Ron DeSanctimonious” it’s funny, because like all the best nicknames, the truth within it just sticks.

However, this one is a head scratcher. Only reason I can think of Trump to attack DeSantis is because he feels threatened by him. Which means He is listing to the MSM too much.

You are right, it is cringeworthy. Few will get the Paul Harvey/God Made a Farmer parallel. It doesn’t work here.

And what the heck is that bit about his DAUGHTER wanting to grow up doing what her dad does? She doesn’t think much of what her mother (made on Day 6 or so) does?! Sounds like needless pandering to the female empowerment business, and has NOTHING to do with being a fighter.

DaSantis rarely missteps. This is a misstep.And worse because it came from him, not a PAC.

I don't believe that DeSantis is a RINO. And I was talking about Trump attacking fellow Republicans, not Freepers. He attacks anyone who he perceives as disobedient to him, regardless of their political persuasion.

Yes. You must. I’ve worked with Italians over the years, and some I still have as close friends. When Covid hit and everyone was sent home from our job in L.A. 2019 ( I being from Detroit) he asked since his company had an office in Detroit where should he live since I was from there. I said well your from Milan, you probably want to live in the City. Which he he did. A year later he got engaged to a nice girl from Poland. Nice Story.

From the lack of replies, compared to the threads attacking Trump for his desanctimonious comment, I'd say that a majority of desantis supporters are going to turn out to be nevertrumpers in disguise...

Also, I doubt many of those attacking Trump for his comment are going to apologize for the attacks they are making on Trump or his supporters here, either....

And, if desantis does run, it's going to be like jeb bush v2.0, A popular Florida governor running against Trump, with Trump supported by individuals and desantis by wall street and other big money types
