Managers for Democratic Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman's campaign released a memo to set the expectations for tomorrow's debate with Mehmet Oz, stating that the doctor is entering the bout with a "huge built-in advantage."
Fetterman, on the other hand, will use a computer to deliver instant closed captioninng during the debate. Instead of responding directly to Oz, Fetterman will read Oz's responses on the screen and then respond
This is due to the lingering effects of a stroke that Fetterman suffered in the spring. His wife, Gisele, has claimed that criticizing Fetterman for that use of closed captioning is essentially discriminatory.
She called the comments "ableist" and said that the NBC reporter who interviewed Fetterman, making note of his unique use of closed captioning and inability to listen and responde, should be held accountable for the "disservice that she did to not only my husband, but anyone facing a disability."
The memo was shared by Politico repoter Holly Otterbein.
The statement, written by advisors Rebecca Katz and Brendan McPhillips, makes clear that Oz is a "TV personality," and admits that even prior to Fetterman's stroke that he "wasn't great at debates."
"We'll admit - this isn't John's format. Look no further than the debates from the primary earlier this year. On the other hand, 'Oz is a polished daytime TV host who knows his camera angles and how to craft TV moments,'" the memo says, quoting the Philadelphia Inquirer.
"John is ready to share his vision for Pennsylvania, defend his record, and make the case against Oz. He's going to be talking about his real ideas to help real people. But if we're all being honest, Oz clearly comes into Tuesday night with a huge built-in advantage," the memo says.

Fetterman doesn’t have to work. Billionaire Dad will always take care of him.
How do you think he got where he is today?
I had no idea he has a heart condition as well. I’m not surprised, though. He is rather large, if I may say so. Plus, the media has totally avoided talking about his health at all. They simply act like this is all so ordinary. It is NOT.
Seriously.
Hillary cheated like hell and was never called out on it.

Democrats cheat. Period.
This guy can’t string two words together. They are going to cheat. Count on it.
Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. That’s too bad, because a more humble beginning might have led him to do something worthwhile with himself, just from the instinct for survival.
I thought you meant elickted… like “he done been elickted”
When Puddin Head slipped during a rally for FrankenFetter that Gisele his wife would make a great Senator, I saw the answer.
For this lot, it's not about electing the best man or woman. It's about controlling the seat of power.
In turn, that's why Dems will vote for a ham sandwich. As long as they control the seat, they can replace the sandwich or FrankenFetter or Bidet when the occupant isn't useful anymore.
As such, the Oz plan should be to focus on centrists who at least can see that the election SHOULD be about competence as well as issues. If they can pick off enough centrists to offset fraud and sandwich-voting Dems, they have a chance.
The ability to find patterns or signals in noise is the definition of intelligence; it is also called the ability to discriminate. Coincidence? Discriminating against someone because they lack the skills to perform a job is not bad, it is common sense.
The “closed captioning” will also provide prepared answers for Festerman to read.
Someone behind the scenes with another Laptop connected to Fetterman’s
PC will be typing the responses.
Perfect!
The prompter screens are huge (think 50’ TV sets) and visible to both candidates. The station producing the debate has already run stories showing the setup.
Correction, 50 INCH TV sets.
Exactly.🙄
