In the case of teenagers I think it's the 'attention' the 'trans' people get that they crave. They see them as getting all kinds of special treatment and glad-handing from the adults in the education sphere and think that is what the rest of society is like. Then they follow thru with eir 'transition' and discover that it's not lik ethat at all, that NOBODY GIVES A SHIT what they think, say, or do.................
I don’t think it is so much as seeking attention as seeking acceptance. As she said, as a normal white girl she was expected to constantly grovel and beg forgiveness among the “friends” she made on tumblr. But as a trans, she was suddenly catapulted to the leftist revered status of “victim”.
