The trigger-happy oligarchs at the censorship-obsessed Facebook are apparently so dense they don’t understand satire.
Satire site The Babylon Bee posted a funny photo of Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis wearing laced collars to honor the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The posted meme was a snapshot of a two-year-old Bee article published Sept. 22, 2020. According to Facebook, the joke was “false information.” The platform linked out to a 2020 fact-check by CheckYourFact.com to rebuke The Babylon Bee. The fact-check was headlined: “FACT CHECK: DID THE LAKERS WEAR LACE COLLARS TO HONOR RUTH BADER GINSBURG?” The Daily Caller wholly owns CheckYourFact.com.
News flash, Facebook: The meme was clearly a joke! The tech platform apparently realized how foolish it looked and later removed the fact-check from the post, but not before being blasted on social media for applying the fact-check in the first place.

So now the Babylon Bee got caught printing fake news. It’s about time!
But wait. It gets worse. I just looked it up. There is no media company in Babylon, Iraq named the “Bee”. Evidently the whole company is fake. Somebody should tell Facebook about this.

The Bee story was flagged as false because it wasn’t as ridiculous and unbelievable as the real life MSM headlines we are currently seeing.
Unfortunately there’s a new species of FReepers that are as humorless as these fact checkers.
I sometimes think they use foreigners as fact checkers. I was thrown in FB jail for 30 days when some “fact checker” in Ghana did not like my satire post about homos needing an agricultural spray “Hog Mate” to make them interested in girls.
“But then, they would probably be chasing sows instead of girls!” WHAM! 30 days.
I almost got another 30 days when I posted on FB that we needed to start doing what Dean Martin said in ROUGH NIGHT IN JERICHO.
“Lock him up. We’ll hang him tomorrow right after the trial.”
WHAM! 30 days! I protested and FB backed down.
I posted the same on GAB with no problems.
The only thing FB accomplished here is to convince millions of Americans that the Bee story is actually true.
Facebook "fact" checkers would have a tough time pouring piss out of a boot with directions written on the heel.
And the corollary, FB is actually false...
