Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis brilliantly exposed the hypocrisy of rich liberals by sending 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard. Immigration lawyers and activists thought they could get the best of DeSantis by filing a class action lawsuit against him. The lawsuit alleges that the flights were “a premeditated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting [the migrants] for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests.”
But DeSantis clearly anticipated the radical, hypocritical left’s response, and he revealed on Tuesday that the migrants signed consent forms.
“It is opportunistic that activists would use illegal immigrants for political theater. If these activists spent even a fraction of this time and effort at the border, perhaps some accountability would be brought to the Biden Administration’s reckless border policies that entice illegal immigrants to make dangerous and often lethal journeys through Central America and put their lives in the hands of cartels and Coyotes,” DeSantis’ office said in a statement. “The transportation of the immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard was done on a voluntary basis. The immigrants were homeless, hungry, and abandoned – and these activists didn’t care about them then.”
“Florida’s program gave them a fresh start in a sanctuary state and these individuals opted to take advantage of chartered flights to Massachusetts,” the statement continued. “It was disappointing that Martha’s Vineyard called in the Massachusetts National Guard to bus them away from the island within 48 hours.”
But the real icing on the cake was the consent forms that each of the migrants signed. The forms were written in both English and Spanish, and required each migrant to personally write that they knew they’d be taken to Massachusetts.

liberals will gladly leave this poor people homeless in the streets of a border town, but if a Republican gives them a hotel room, food and free transportation to a place that wants them, and has the resources to help them.

DeSantis is a Harvard educated lawyer so it’s doubtful these leftists are going to be successful with abusing the legal system to go after him like they’re trying to do with Trump. I’m sure he anticipated every stunt they’ll try to pull.

They cant use that. Since the migrants are brown and in addition don’t speak english, they are therefore illiterate and thus have no agency. Its the same as your grandmother at the old folks home in a coma needing someone with power of attorney, or a 5 year old with severe downs syndrome needing someone to take care of them.

The 50 and those who didn’t agree to go to MV were bused to FL. The 50 were then flown out, and the rest remained.
So it was ‘Massachusetts’ no mention of ‘Boston’

Amazing. Holder/Obama opened the floodgates to immigrants seeking the same amnesty Las Ilhan Omar did. Especially just prior to Trump’s inauguration so the aftermath would look to be Trump’s fault. When Trump was in office and trying to shut down all the incoming from Central America, immigration lawyers practically lined the streets drooling and waiting to sue our government. Every immigrant had a lawyer if needed. Paid for by special interest groups. Can you imagine?
Trump put a stop to easy access to lawyers finally.
In the past year, over two million have come through the border in El Paso. Not 50. Millions.
Yeah, people tend to forget that before he was a JAG, he attended Yale undergrad, and Harvard law.
Say what you will about the Ivy League, but they are not going to admit a middle class Dago kid without off-the-chart test scores and grades. DeSantis is whip-smart, focused, and not at all intimidated by the Democrat machine.
There are plenty of borderline unemployed lackluster incompetent people with law degrees to sign their names to this as Leftist activists.
