I had a friend who was a Manager of some operation where he ran the warehouse, the Truck Drivers, and the Maintenance Departments. He was a one man show. One time there was a big snow storm and he was called in during the middle of the night, to shovel out the truck bays.

Once a week he was given the checks for the Workers. He would lock up the checks and hustle to the bank to cash his check first. Then he would pass them out after he got his money. It sounded funny, but he was miserable.

Lots of stories he told me about that fly by night operation. He did not last long. He went out disabled with a rotator cuff injury. They paid him for many months before finally settling.

If they weren't even paying their manager, here's how this is gonna go down badly for these nutrooters -- if they didn't pay their Unemployment Insurance, they are in a world of hurt.

Have one of those reporters sit down with this gal while she signs up with BEACON and see if the claim reveals an employer in good standing with Maryland's Division of Unemployment Insurance.

If not, then it's punch down time, starting with IRS Form 3449a.
