10 Facts Electric Vehicle Advocates Don't Want You to Know
PJ Media ^

There are a host of reasons why the Left is absolutely determined to force Americans out of their privately owned, gasoline-powered cars and trucks and into unreliable public transportation and costly Electric Vehicles (EVs), none of which have to do with “saving the environment.”

Brandon and friends keep pushing for apartments and multi-family zoning, neither of which will work for large scale EV adoption.

Last year we started a trip to Montreal in my diesel sedan, almost entirely via Interstates and "Autoroutes" (the "Interstates" of Quebec). Started with a full tank and had great luck, traffic wise,in both directions. About 805 miles later we pulled into a gas station near my house with the "miles to empty" thing reading 20.It took me about 4 minutes to refill it.

When I can do that...or anything resembling that (maybe 400 miles and 10 minutes)...in an EV I might consider buying one. Until then...no way,Jose!

Which brand and model of a diesel car do you have and/or like the best?

California's lunacy for no new ICE sales starting 2035 will reveal its fatal flaw once wildfire season starts.

Those who must flee, and own EV's, may be doomed due to a lack of charging stations and a reliable grid.

The Cannon Ball Run race across America was done at an average 68 mph INCLUDING charging time. Gas cars do it faster but at greater risk.

The politicians who are forcing EVs on citizens are giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States.

Here is who mines the EV battery material. Dems love slaves and slavery. They will love the child labor used here. I can get an average of 650 miles of range with my 3.0 Duramax Chevy 1500 4x4. My best MPG right now is 38.6.

If they only had some power source right onboard the vehicle, to generate electrical power on demand, to drive the four individual electric motors, one on each wheel.

It works on Diesel-electric railroad locomotives, you know. Been doing it since the 1940’s, the technology for that is well developed.

All that is needed, really, is a modulated heat source, to drive either an internal-combustion or external-combustion engine to run a generator to supply the electricity as demanded. Minimal batteries required, to initiate the power generation, then probably the burning of some kind of hydrocarbon fuel for the heat source. Methane comes to mind, or possibly propane, both clean-burning fuels.

The “carbon footprint” myth is just that, a myth. The carbon dioxide emitted is quickly taken up by natural means, and is in fact the very basis of life as we know it.

Carbon dioxide is not, and never has been, a “pollutant”. No matter how many judicial rulings to the contrary have been announced by ignorant and scientifically unsophisticated magistrates. And it is definitely NOT the engine that drives “climate change”.

It's a BMW. IIRC BMW and Jaguar were the last car makers to sell diesel sedans/coupes in the US. Volkswagen killed diesel cars here (and in Europe) with their emissions cheating of a few years ago. The Enviro Maoists pounced on that.

Some years ago (maybe 10) I was in a VW dealership getting some DEF when I saw,on their showroom floor,an SUV with a V-10 diesel engine. Can you imagine the torque that thing would have had?!?! You could have pulled a freight train with it. With a vehicle like yours 38MPG isn't bad.

The Fisker had an ICE-electric drive like you describe. I myself have thought that such a dual system would be a great use case for small multifuel turbines, since the generator needs to turn at a set RPM anyway, so the power source can be optimized to a specific rotational speed and therefore get really good efficiency.

I love those “save the environment” commercials that show somebody at a recharging station pulling the “plug” out of their just-charged parked car, and then turning to re-insert the charging “plug” in the charger. It’s the same motion one uses when pulling the gas nozzle out of the car’s tank filler. So convenient looking.

What they don’t show...is the EV driver standing around for the 30 minutes to 8 hours while the vehicle charges.

The V10 diesel Touareg made around 550ft/lb of torque, and was very smooth, so naturally VW only kept it a few years before replacing it with a less refined and weaker diesel V6.

805+20 mile range is great for a any car. I wonder what a diesel hybrid with the same size tank could do? I have a gas hybrid sedan that can go almost 700 miles at it’s best with a 17-gallon tank.
