Biden Admin Handed California The Power To Mandate EVs Nationwide
Daily Caller ^ | 8/27/2022 | Jack McEnvoy

California has passed a new regulation that will ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles; the new emissions rule, which was permitted by the Biden administration, will have wide-ranging effects beyond California and could accelerate the nationwide transition to electric cars.

California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) finalized a rule Thursday that will outlaw the sale of gas-fueled cars by 2035. The law may push an increasing number of states to adopt similar rules and force Americans to exclusively buy electric vehicles (EVs) as numerous Democrat-run states such as New York, Massachusetts and Maryland routinely adopt California’s “clean car” standards, according to data from the Maryland Department of the Environment.

mandating evs seems to be putting the cart before the horse

since most evs are fueled by electricity produced by icky “fossil” fuels

they are not zero emission the emissions are just somewhere else

what will happen to the price of electricity when green energy is fully implemented?

it will skyrocket

your mortgage/rent will no longer be your largest monthly expense

so step 1: make gasoline more expensive so evs seem more economical

step 2: mandate evs. they are better than those dirty expensive gas cars anyway

step 3: move to full green energy. evs will be a luxury because of the price of electricity. you are more worried about heating/cooling than having transportation

One of the best biodiesel candidates

Need a truck? Remove back half of roof, back seats and the trunk lid. Block off area behind front seats and preferably have a back window.

If gas is expensive but still available, Black Diesel aka WMO is also and option.
WMO is Waste Motor Oil and it's mixed 85/15 with gasoline. https://usfiltermaxx.com/en/content/9-make-black-diesel

Back when obamadiesel was $5-6/gl a bunch of guys on a diesel pickup truck forum came up with WMO and were running it in their Powerstroke and Duramax engines.

When I lived in Ctrl FL, some guy made the news by converting his S-10 pickup to electric and it used deep cycle 6/12vdc batteries. I forget if they were 6vdc golf cart batteries or 12vdc RV/Marine batteries which are not truly deep cycle like the golf cart batteries. He only had a range of 40 miles iirc but it wouldn't have cost him $20k to replace his batteries.

Actually, Paul LePage WAS a mayor before he was governor....he was the mayor of Waterville, Maine and also the CEO of Marden’s, a chain of discount and salvage stores throughout Maine.

“California has passed a new REGULATION...”

Note that it’s a regulation not a law debated and passed by the Legislature and signed by the governor.

It’s an edict by a small group of the unelected bureaucrats that make up California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) (created under Reagan, BTW), who got the marching order from Gruesom.

In other words it’s just another executive order to the deep state... of California.

but I doubt CA has more than 4 pct EVs.
= = =

Hmmm.

On the 405 this weekend.

Not counting trucks, I’ll be there were more than 4 teslas per 100.

Maybe twice that. Just my estimate, gut evaluation.

...forcing everyone everywhere to jump on the EV bandwagon.

"Why aren't you driving your new car?

The rolling brownouts only give me enough electricity to run my house. Not NEARly enough to charge my car.

Oh, they don’t mind us moving.

As long as we can only go where they dictate.
