As Ukrainians celebrated their 31st independence day Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced another almost $3 billion in military aid for the country's fight against Russia.

The $2.98 billion weapons and aid package is the single largest military-focused package announced by the Biden administration since the war broke out in late February. This latest package includes laser-guided rocket systems, six National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) with additional ammunition, 24 counter-artillery radars, Puma Unmanned Aerial Systems, VAMPIRE Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems, 245,000 rounds of 155mm artillery ammunition, 65,000 rounds of 120mm mortar ammunition, and additional funding for Ukrainian forces’ training and maintenance.

Can anyone toss out an estimate of how much will be returned to the government in taxes by the employers and employees hired to produce this 3 $billion production. Also how much will be returned as taxes paid by the businesses that will have their goods and services sold to the original employers and employees. These taxes paid will be both Federal and state. Anyone know which states have the manufacturers of all this military largess?

The 155mm shells are produced by General Dynamics.

In Scranton, PA :-)

The Reagan admin and defense contractors made sure that procurement was spread out all over as much as possible to make it harder for the Dems to slash the defense budget.

So, where are all the screaming peaceniks?

Even “Code Pink” is couching the Ukraine conflict with a ‘Russians must exit’ theme, buried in all their other highly designed and rendered website/fundraising scheme.

Where are peace marchers screaming about the baby-killing Democrats?

Well, I know - they’re just miserable hate-filled hypocrites, but the observation is still the same.

Making money off more and more and more slaughtered Ukrainian lives.

Any wonder why the US/UK want the war in Ukraine to continue and repeatedly telling and urging Ukrainians to fight to the last man?

Yeah. Okie dokie.

Ukraine is going to become the home office, Central Command for the WEF governance in the years to come.

They’re stockpiling cash and weaponry to prepare.

Drop in bucket, compared to the cost of the border invasion.
And, with all the inflation, not as much as a few years ago./sarc

To my understanding the Ukrainians are receiving our stored supplies of these munitions and our factories will produce replacements for them.

So far I have not heard that Ukraine is receiving anything new - which would fly against most military procurement rules which require first-in and first-out for such things.

Like Britain in WW 1&2, they spent their treasure fighting the Germans from 1916 to 1945. The Americans forced the Brits to destroy their Navy, as we became the BMOC. This will happen after all this is over. Likely the CCP will force us to withstand occupation, destruction of hardware, and obeiance as terms of any peace plan. Ladies and Germs, we are seeing the complete destruction of the West as it has been building since the Magna Carta. Working whites will be managed by yellow, black and brown people, of course the high echelon will have plenty of rich honkies in it. Freedom is never free, and America is broke where it counts. NO Huevos. STAND DOWN, the Dems want violence it works in their favor.....yeah right.

The Ukraine is a major producer of wheat that feed a large number of people. How are you going to get rid of (starve off ) the "useless eaters" without cutting off their food supply. Meanwhile, the Gates (Foundation?) and China are buying up agricultural land in the United States. Wait until the federal government forces U. S. farmers into bankruptcy and selling their farms by eliminating or pricing out of existence their sources of commercial fertilizers.

>”Code Pink”

Code Pink blames the war on the west and campaigns against sending weapons to Ukraine and sanctioning Russia. Same with the Democratic Socialists of America.

They’d fit in very well with the Putinistas here.

Three things have amazed me about Ukraine.

First that NATO countries now understand how important it is for them to spend on military defense. Trump tried to shame them into this, but Putin has really got their attention.

Second how former Warsaw Pact eastern European countries are using this war as an excuse to send Ukraine all their old Soviet era stored arms and at the same time commit to buying new and better military hardware to store for their troops.

Third, how important energy policy and public relations (propaganda) is to fighting a “modern” war. Propaganda for purposes of moral has always been important, but in the age of the internet, videos of attacks, battles, and atrocities are much more important. The Nightly commentary during Vietnam and the body count was important, but the daily videos from the front in Ukraine are much more important.

“The Americans forced the Brits to destroy their Navy”

Naw. After WW2 the Brits went socialist and started dismantling their Empire. There was no need for anything more than a mostly littoral navy after that.

Besides, they had abdicated the role of global peacekeeper to the USA so why not let America pay for a navy while the Brits got marginal national health care and crappy dentistry?

Peaceniks?

There may be a few genuine pacifists here and there, but no political movement.

It's all leftists who are anti-war when out of power, and even then the main effect is *not* to end war.
