Vanity: The Curley Effect = Dem Policy
Vanity

Posted on 08/25/2022 6:21:39 PM PDT by TigerClaws

Someone mentioned this in the comments section and I'd never heard of it. The Curley Effect named after a Boston, MA politician.

Defined: Curley's strategy of driving opponents outside of the city, described by Harvard economists Andrei Shleifer and Edward Glaeser in "The Curley Effect: The Economics of Shaping the Electorate," increased his political base by using distortionary economic policies, leading to long-term economic stagnation.

Thought this would be a subject for further research or the journalists on here because we seem to see this being used in NYC and other major cities and - with our open border - the country as a whole.

Cities are overrun with crime leading to the productive and middle class leaving. This creates greater Dem control and these all-Democrat-controlled areas flipped several states in the last election.

When I saw the headline, I thought Three Stooges.

Know it well, almost first-hand. My grandfather, a well-known architect, was part of the WASP diaspora. I therefor grew up in what were then the far exurbs, although he still rode a train in to his State Street office until he retired.

Comparing demoRATS to the Stooges is an abominable insult to true comedians.

James Michael Curley became famous in his day for being re-elected mayor while in prison.

Redlining unleashed destruction on Boston’s Mattapan section; destroying a stable Jewish neighborhood. There was an excellent book on this particular redlining; “Death of an American Jewish Community”.

I’ve been studying politics and sh*tposting here for decades and this was a new one to me.

But it exactly describes and explains the complete lawlessness we see.

There was also a big real estate shakedown as properties came on the market with close-downs from Covid and the riots/looting. Real estate prices crash.

To conquer America a foreign adversary doesn’t need to fire a shot - just back Democrats and they’ll destroy city after city for them. Unlike Hiroshima, you never come back from Democrats.

Not sure of the name, but it is true that the Dems control most cities. One would want to study how to get these city dwellers to wake up and vote GOP. Apparently crime rates don’t seem to matter.

Actually “conquering by not firing a shot” is best! It preserves the infrastructure, maintains the illusion the “conquered” are still sovereign but subordinate which they won’t notice if its managed right by your “proxies”. Additionally, you have a place you can strip for resources, and a market to sell your manufactured crap.
