Michael Cohen's Crazy Conspiracy Theory: To Avoid Jail, Trump Will Threaten to Give Top-Secret Docs to U.S. Enemies
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

The left loves to accuse conservatives of circulating unfounded conspiracy theories. But Sunday morning on SMNC, Michael Cohen -- Donald Trump's lawyer-turned-rabid antagonist -- floated a wild conspiracy theory that could have been concocted by those thinking moon landing was staged.

Appearing on Jonathan Capehart's Sunday Show, guest host Michael Steele -- the former RNC Chairman turned Never Trumper and member of the disgraced Lincoln Project -- asked Cohen why Trump allegedly kept top-secret documents at Mar-a-Lago.

Cohen replied:

"He's gonna use it as a get-out-of-jail-free card. It's a way to extort America. To turn around to say, if you put me in jail, if you go after -- I mean, he'll even say his children, simply, after him. I will have my loyal supporters, who you do not know who has copies of information that may have been -- and again, this is my conjecture -- that I would take those documents. I will release them to Iran, to China, to North Korea, to Russia. And, you know what? You want to take me down? I'll take the whole country down.

Because Trump has always loved giving less fortunate (but often less loyal and less intelligent) people an opportunity to get ahead, he has often surrounded himself with people like Michael Cohen.

They take advantage of Trump when times are good...and then turn on him when the going gets rough.

This is a blind spot for Trump.

Just guessing, but Trump might have a soft spot for such people because his father and grandfather were entrepreneurs who, coming up from nothing, had to fight and scrap for their success.

My bet is that the (de-) classified documents taken in the raid are the “smoking guns” proving the illegal participation in Crossfire Hurricane by the FBI and IC.

Those implicated wanted them back more than anything.

Some things are too stupid to pass between a person’s lips.

Totally agree.

And I think it says something about human nature that people show such little loyalty. I think that Omarosa from The Apprentice is a great example. She came from nothing, had an abrasive personality, and it seemed no one liked her. But Trump saw something. She was on his TV show and became a little bit of a star. He championed her, and she wound up working at the White House. So, she has the president of the United States, the leader of the Conservative movement, a billionaire, and someone who is very interested in serving as her own personal champion -- and what does she do? She stabbed him in the back. Repeatedly. And after she was finally cast out, what happened to her? No one knows. Without Trump, she's not interesting and no one cares about her.

Jared Kushner is another. His father-in-law is someone you want to follow and support. But I get the sense that Jared is far too stuck on himself to ever show loyalty to anyone.

LOL.. I think what is missing in this theory, amongst many things, is that there is no crime for Trump to be afraid of. What’s the crime mikey?

It seems Trump teaches his underlings to do their best and reach for the stars, but he forgets to teach them the importance of humility, gratitude, and loyalty.

For us, Cohen has already destroyed any credibility he ever had (which was almost zero) but there are many people who have not yet caught up.

Let him rant on and eventually the most obtuse will get it.

He is is own worst enemy.

Steele & Cohen - what a dream (nightmare) team!

by now, the youth of America (including Black Americans and all the Bernie Bros) should be on the side of Trump. they should be well aware of the Deep State’s desperation to bring him down, and they should back Trump for 2024.

in fact, Trump deserves two terms, given what they did to him in his first term, but we won’t go there.

one term with DeSantis, and then DeSantis takes over for two terms.

Drain the Swamp.

Bury the FakeNewsMSM.

Take back America.

The ones implicating the deep state? Go for it…. At least those foreign governments will do something constructive with them…. Like publicize them.

It has been reported, when Trump began his term, Reince gave Trump names of turncoats...
I’m not sure if it was for design or not.

But with success driven bodies.. must be hard to find loyalty..

That is a valid analysis. I generally agree.
