My work won’t let me open this link, so I’m not sure of his point.
Having said that, most actors don’t have the capacity to be a chameleon on screen. Gary Oldman is probably the only one in Hollywood today that totally immerses himself in his part and becomes erased for the duration of the movie.
They all usually play exaggerated versions of themselves.

Oddly enough I just recently realized that James Spader is a real actor.
He disappears into the part better then most.
Movies are not my thing but once I looked up his bio I found he had been in a bunch of things that I had seen and I had no idea.
Not because the roles were forgettable but because I never saw James Spader. I saw whoever he was portraying.

Johnny Depp plays unique characters.. Each one different with the exception of Captain Jack Sparrow..
Depp is pretty versatile.
