Some think that when he cleaned out his fridge to go inside, that’s when he really died and everything else we see in the movie is just what he was imagining as he became oxygen deprived.

Joaquin Phoenix is outstanding. Damn he was good in Joker. I never thought someone playing a comic book character would win Best Actor, but he sure deserved it.
