#8: Thank you!

In before, “6 days!” appears.

I never saw any good answers for more important basic questions regarding the singularity - What was before that? And whatever was before that, how did that come into being?

The Universe has always been. There is definitely movement of energy and matter outwards as evidenced by red light shifts. As energy and matter expands outward, they will eventually reach their limit and then start retracting until it all retracts and sets off another big bang.

This cycle may have repeated itself countless times already.

It may be as simple as our Lord breathing in and out.

Ah, but where? Maybe in some God (for lack of a better term)'s lava lamp?

Maybe like fish in an aquarium, maybe we are in one ourselves, and our "God" is in turn in one as well? This could go on infinitely as there will was be the infinite question, Where?

This is all interesting but until science realizes that life created matter, not the other way around, they will never find the answers they seek. The observer is senior to what is observed.

Allison Kirkpatrick is a particularly egregious one, and I quote,

“My specific contributions include chairing our department’s newly founded Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. The DEI Committee is working to improve a sense of welcoming for all undergraduates in the department, and we are committed to ensuring equitable graduate admissions practices. I also am the faculty liaison for the Diversity in Physics group, which has regular meetings to socialize, talk about issues in the field, and outreach to the community. Finally, I am the Co-Director for the university’s Multicultural Scholars Program, where I provide mentoring and professional development opportunities for underrepresented students majoring in the natural sciences.”

Pure Democrat/RINO insanity. Basically, what all that nonsense means is that some Physics PhD/Prof is going to tell a black student that there are other white people (other than the professor herself) who are out to destroy that student and his career, so watch out! White Democrats/RINOs' core claim is that white Republicans/conservatives are racist whereas, in contrast, white Democrats/RINOs are not racist and that white Democrat/RINO politicians "are here to help you." (Whenever a politician says, "we're here to help," always run in the opposite direction.) It's a total crock. But it's what Democrats/RINOs totally rely on, especially during election time: "Race, race, race." Democrats/RINOs are really goofy.

It’s a popular that people thought the earth was flat. It was known to be round at least since the days of Eratosthenes. All classically educated Europeans were aware of that. What wasn’t anticipated was the existence of another continent.

Big Bang?

The MATH never worked.

What Math?

The math about how much matter/energy you would have to have to have the big bang.

So we are “off” in terms of matter/energy in our known universe that we can observe by a huge factor.

So what did the “scientists” do? Well, there MUST be matter and energy we simply cannot see that exists, because we all KNOW the BB MUST be true.

That is why we have “Dark Matter” and “Dark Energy”

Science has turned (since about 1930s) into more and more a religion.

This is their equivalent to how many angels could dance on the head of a pin.

So, the bigger telescopes they build, if they don’t find the 99% of the “missing” matter, then what? Will they ever admit the BB is BUST? No.

Why?

Because they don’t have any other theory than the cosmic egg. (aka big bang).

BTW, it does not explain HOW matter/energy came into being either. Just a hand wave to say you had a big cosmic egg that had X mass and Y energy, and that’s what caused the Big Bang....

The big bang does happen, every morning. That dang trash truck dropping dumpsters without a care in the world for those still asleep. 😡

Big bang theory was proposed by a Catholic priest.

Most scientists seem to answer the questions by just saying in essence - “it sprung up”. Most unsatisfying.

Probably even less satisfying to most folks would be the thought that the universe has simply always existed, and always will. No beginning, no end -- it's just here (something we already know as fact). It's, by far, the simplest explanation, but people need to know the how and why.

We are less than ants in regards to our understanding of the universe, yet we try to act like we do understand it with undeserved arrogance.

Agree completely. I said recently in another thread that we aren't even out of our infancy yet when it comes to technology and understanding the universe.

Bring up the measurement problem in a group of physics folks and everyone gets a funny look on their face.

Does God play dice?

Is that damned cat alive?

And what about those photons passing through a slit?

If there truly is a God, where did God come from? Surely there has to be a beginning for Him.......

Maybe the light at the edges of the universe keeps bending from the gravity of everything else in middle, to the point that light will eventually curve all the way around back to us?

Maybe if we look deep enough, we will eventually see the Milky Way from the other side?

Well, the Earth was flat until it wasn’t.

Earth was only flat in European countries during the Dark Ages - everywhere else, every one knew better.

The Big Bang: The science is settled...until it’s not.

When I am told the “science is settled” I know I am being conned.

Hi Humble:

Do you have any idea what the real adults on this forum think of you? You might want to modify your behavior.

Blessings Anyway!

The Institute of Arts and Ideas … is this a credible source? I don’t care if the Big Bang is settled science or not because most science is not settled. Quite honestly there will be things that remain a mystery and there is nothing wrong about that. Actual progress in science is driven my mystery and not accepting settled science. Ask Anthony FauxChi. He is, after all, science.

"...“What made it go ‘bang’?”..."

Well - it was either a Supreme Being -
or else boys playing with M-80s - really big ones.
