The Silence of DeSantis – Florida Governor Ducks Media Appearances, Records Statements, Seeking to Avoid Questions About Trump Raid
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | August 10, 2022 | Sundance

Posted on 08/11/2022 8:56:38 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

We are here because we discuss uncomfortable truths. We accept things as they are, and not as we would wish them to be.

Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?

The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On the day after the raid, much like the entire DC Decepticon establishment, Ron DeSantis hid in the bunker and kept quiet. No tweets. No appearances. Nothing that would create a situation where he would have to enter this ‘time of choosing.’ This is what politicians do. This is what Nikki Haley does. Avoiding controversy is not what war time leaders do.

On the second day after the raid, again with the politics of the issue as the dominating consideration, DeSantis releases a recording of a statement as Florida schools begin to open for the fall semester. Again, avoiding any situation where he would be asked to take a position on the raid. Please take note and pay attention. These are the moments that matter, the examples that show the true intents and motives of political leaders.

DeSantis is doing what he has been advised to do.

The silence of DeSantis is deafening.

DeSantis’ supporters, cheerleaders, GOPe promoters and sycophants will ignore it, but deep in their psyche they know what I am saying is true.

Ron DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida and has many attributes that make him important for a host of reasons, but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.

Accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Because this is the same man that many people would select to face the greatest enemy to our republic. DeSantis is showing us right now that he does not possess the courage, desire in scale, or ability to fight the enemy we face in this battle.

DeSantis is a good finisher, a good maintainer, a good and solid ally who operates well when surrounded by the fortune of an aligned legislative body; but he is not yet the weapon that can stop the corrupt UniParty enemy within our republic.

There are moments that show the character of the politicians in the club apparatus. The pathetic and embarrassing Ted Cruz speech at the 2016 RNC nominating convention was one of those moments. The response, or lack thereof, to an illegitimate FBI raid on the personal home of the leader of the republican party is yet another.

Accept things as they are, you will be far less disappointed later on.

So am I to make it out that Ron is leading from behind? So someone shoots the king you wait and see just how badly wounded he is before you do something. Especially when it’s in your backyard and you own every freaking inch of real estate in that state.

You’re right, there are DeSantis responses bemoaning the raid on Trump’s house all over the place. This hit piece is nothing but a cheap shot lie.....period.

Huh? This is another “trying to make a mountain out of a molehill” effort. DeSantis made how he views this quite clear. He did so immediately. What else is he supposed to do?

He’s not running against Trump.

He does not owe it to anybody to make performative daily speeches about this. The FIB massively overreached and is getting the blowback it deserves. DeSantis doesn’t need to make himself the story. Just let the FIB stew in its open and obvious corruption.

This take is very true. I took notice of Desantis’ lack of a position in all of the primaries (Very quiet for Kari Lake, Quiet in Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan). It’s not that he shouldn’t focus on winning a second term it’s that it shows that he is NO Trump. He is trying to win re-election, not save the Republic. He takes no controversial positions on a National scale, no position where he doesn’t already know he’s got strong backing. That’s not leadership. He’s not really in the fight, he’s just reaping the benefits of not being in the spotlight. Easy to have none of Trump’s “Baggage” when you haven’t booked a flight.

That has never been tested in a court. It’s about time that it was....

It’s been tested at Fort Sumter, and the result was the Civil War.

But he wasn’t silent.

There are so many people out here with an ax to grind. They are purposely trying to force Trump and DeSantis into conflict. The only one that serves is the democrats.

Both DeSantis and Trump are showing wisdom by not taking the bait. I wish more conservatives were like them.

I’ve been told there’s no daylight between Trump and Desantis so he’s obviously coordinating with Trump on this.

As I have said many times DeSantis is a good governor but would get eaten alive in Washington DC. There is only one Donald Trump.

DeSantis is a work in progress. We need the real thing - TRUMP!!!

DeSantis might be a work in progress. But if you were governor of the state of Florida what would you have done? Put out three sentences on Twitter or stood up and said something big. Go big or go home.

“...all he can do is to get stuff splattered on him.”

Astute. He has already made his stance on federal authority. Florida had nothing to do with the approval of the warrant nor had the legal jurisdiction to stop the entry. It actually is none of DeSantis’s business and he is not handing the liberal media a scrap for them to try to say he is poison. Good move.

Early on I read 2 articles from Conservative Treehouse. ...and that’s been it. The name alone turned me off, and what I read persuaded me not to give it more of a chance. I only know of it’s continued existence because the source isn’t displayed on the posts page...

DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida ... but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.”

He could be both — a general and a politician.

When he takes action, it appears he has made sure that all his ducks are in a row so that he can’t be second-guessed. It could be he is having staff doing deep research and preparing backup for his final kick-ass statement.

You are right. DeSantis was quick to strongly denounce the raid. Seems like some the article and Trump supporters on FR are using the raid to attack De Santis because DeSantis has been mentioned several places as a possible 2024 candidate.
The article is a cheap lie......period.

What is so difficult about saying the FBI never notified me they never told me that what they were going to do they came into the state of Florida and decided to conduct a raid like a foreign fucking army. What’s so difficult about saying that? Isn’t he a Harvard grad?

Screw Sundance. I don’t know him from Adam and he’s just trying to start some sh!t amidst an unprecedented event in political history because somebody isn’t ‘vocal and outraged’ enough?. I’m NOT for DeSantis for 2024 but we need to stop this crap, IMO. This is just needless diversion and word press for views. We should be going after Wray, Garland and Biden.
