I’d love to see the mighty Russian military threat knocked down to a regional power that concentrates on national defense and improving it’s citizens lives. There is no NATO country that wants to invade Russia.
Their problem is now how to keep the Chinese from taking all their resources as they have little else to offer the world.
At think point I think the Russians are hurting enough, I think we should do a Vietnam - Democrats are good at that and withdraw all military support, and only offer humanitarian aid to refugees.
Let Europeans clean it all up.

A big part of modern warfare is propaganda. It always has been and always will be, but it is much more important now.
Ukraine had no where near the weapons or military to fight Russia. They needed through propaganda create their invasion as a proxy war for NATO to fight evil Russia. That is how they got all of the NATO and other western aligned countries to donate weapons, munitions and money. Propaganda was key.
Look at the horrible economic consequences occurring in countries like Germany where natural gas is being cut back by Russia. They need news to make them feel like the sacrifices are acceptable.
Having said that, I think that despite all the propaganda back and forth that Ukraine has seriously damaged the Russian military. All the photos of Russian tanks blowing up and drone strikes are not false. The sinking of the Russian Black Sea flagship happened. All the Russian Generals and high ranking officer funerals are real.
Can Ukraine totally drive the Russians out of their country and take back Crimea.............I don’t think so. Can Ukraine bloody Russia to the point that it will be a couple decades before they invade another country? I do think that is possible and likely.
Trump tried through shock and bombastic statements to get NATO countries to contribute the required percent of GDP to NATO military preparedness. Russian has inspired those countries and others that they all need a strong military.
I find the whole send Ukraine your Cold War Era obsolete weapons to fight Russia, while you build and buy more modern weapons an interesting side benefit. Right not most European countries are modernizing their military are great speed.
In terms of the areas of Ukraine with large Russian populations, I don’t assume Ukraine will ever get them back - or would even want them, if Russia could just supply the separatists indefinitely for guerilla action.
Like post-colonial Africa, or even Yugoslavia after it fragmented, the new borders simply didn’t reflect the reality on the ground.
Not quite going as planned, though, at least so far.

That’s an understatement, although the entire assault on the world and primarily the West, has been destructive.
No plan survives 1st contact with the enemy and everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

IF the 80k figure is true, why is Putin asking the norks for 100k troops?
Why has he asked for troops from syria and other places too?
