...and the IQ and financial status of the vast audience you are talking about????????

We’re watching to see just how the “car manufacturers” will be filling the demand. I predict short term, this so called demand will sink car manufacturers who cannot see the light.

>> That is why they make Carbon Monoxide detectors. <<

Cars don’t come equipped with carbon dioxide detectors, though. So yeah, some idiots drove off into a blizzard on a poorly charged EV. You think those same idiots would buy a carbon dioxide monitor if only they were driving ICE cars?

>> EV’s are in MHO worthless, and a very expensive worthless. <<

And your HO is... worthless. FReepers have been nay-saying Teslas every step of the way. Tesla now makes the #1-selling car in America... and would probably sell three times more if they only had the capacity. AND, they’re solving the “duck-tail” problem of solar energy.

EVs are going to be used to control the masses. Damned right I’m against it.

I recently drove from Manassas to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and back. Driving a 2020 Ford F150, V-6, with a 20 gallon tank. Drove mainly on the interstates - I-64, I-81, I-40. Averaged 24 to 25 MPG.

Never argue with an idiot, they’ll take your down to their level and beat you with experience.

That’s great mileage - do you have the 2.7 or 3.5? Or the non-turbo engine.

I’ve been seeing around 21 on the highway with mine. 3.5 twin turbo, though I do have a performance tune on it. But that’s pretty close to what it got prior to the tune also.

The difference is in my idea the ice never drives the car. It only charges the battery. The car runs on electric motors feeding off the battery.

It’s an expensive design, but possible.
Like railroad locomotives.
You need a lot of generator size, so the vehicle will be quite heavy assuming it also has good battery capacity.
Most battery only evs are already good bit heavier than ICE cars .
IIRC a Camry is about 700lb lighter than a Tesla 3.

FTA: “With the largest available battery pack, a fully charged 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck has less energy onboard than a regular F-150 with four gallons of gas in its tank,” Tingwall wrote.

Not only that but the cost of an electric vehicle is huge!
The gov’t has distorted the pricing of gas cars. You could prior to obama/biden buy 5 to 10 used gas vehicles for the cost of one electric vehicle.

The immense weight of the batteries. You will be replacing tires more often at $200+ a piece. The huge cost of replacing the batteries with money you could have bought a used gas car with.
No resale value if the buyer knows about the cost of replacing the batteries.

I do not know how, but 800 volts do not seem to slow down thieves

"The problem with that rating is that you also need to factor in the gross axle weight rating and gross vehicle weight rating."

Sorry I'm so late in responding...you've provided some valuable info.

Our hope is to buy a Rockwood MiniLite in the 4,975 lb range (UVW). Then, there's the 1900 cargo max...though I don't expect we'll hit that. The one above is actually larger than I want to tow, but we like the interior setup with twin beds/convertible to a king size. That's a great suggestion to get weighed on scales. We may even opt for a slightly smaller pull-behind.

We've got the 20" wheels, and we'll be replacing tires in the next year. I will definitely be looking for the "E" rated types.
