New York in the summer is a noisy place, especially if you don’t have money. The rich run off to the Hamptons or Maine. The bourgeoisie are safely shielded by the hum of their central air, their petite cousins by the roar of their window units. But for the broke—the have-littles and have-nots—summer means an open window, through which the clatter of the city becomes the soundtrack to life: motorcycles revving, buses braking, couples squabbling, children summoning one another out to play, and music. Ceaseless music.

I take pride in saying that I love quiet.
No sir.
I hate neighbors that make noise and disturb my life.
I live in the Texas Hill
country and enjoy
My quiet.
Thumpa- thumpa butt-heads driving
Are selfish and
Don’t respect people.
Many many rich people are loud and prefer noise. This post is strange. Some people in all income brackets enjoy quiet but the rich ones can pay for their own isloation when they need it.
Why do non-rich dumb people make so much unnecessary noise?
The less they know the more and the louder they talk.
I had a co-worker named Xochitl and she told us to just call her So-she.
I’m far from rich but the loud, obnoxious, emotionally charged, all around general ghetto rat type is the last kind of of person I’d want to be around. But that’s just me.
I take pride in calling you stupid jerks.
(Stupid jerks is not the term I really want to use.)
I'm far from rich but my love of peace and quiet has led me to live out in the 'middle of nowhere'.
I am not rich and I love quiet. I can pray, read, write, and think. I can hear the subtle sounds such as the birds singing or a distant train horn blowing. And, one of my favorite things about quiet is that it means the loud people aren’t around.
We all do.
another stupid groupthink question ...
White supremacy.
So-chill which obviously she ain’t.
Last job I had was on a 500 acre “ranch” with a lot of empty land around it. I could hear the wind going over the wings of a pair of big ravens that lived there at 100 yards.

I have no idea but it bothers me.
I got on a subway in NYC in 2002, and 5 morons between the ages of 13-15 almost missed it and wouldn’t stop yapping about.
I got off 5 minutes later and they were still yapping....they might still be yelling about it 20 years later....who knows.
Some questions answer themselves.
“You may get if you’ve ever spent time in New Orleans.”
For those who don’t, this could be used as a tutorial.

Why don’t people link to the actual articles instead of promoting MSM and Yahoo?
