If she hadn’t had a backpack I would agree with charging the officer with unlawful use of force. But in a riot situation where a subject with a backpack containing God knows what repeatedly refuses orders to back away from the window? I would likely have made the same call.

We know now that Ashli Babbitt didn’t have a bomb in her backpack, of course. But there was no way for the officer to know that at the time. The Boston Marathon bombers didn’t have any visible weapons either, just a backpack.

I don’t believe so. It was incompetence blended with the fabricated ‘crisis’ of having let them all into the building.

I believe they gamed this over weeks while putting a lid on Byrd’s identity until they determined there was only one way to have this resolved, and the rest is history.

I am only confused as to how her husband is not now notoriously famous in response.

Kephart said he was shocked at a photograph from the House floor earlier on January 6 showing Byrd with his gun drawn and aimed in the direction of Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) and two other men.

Byrd is likely a white-hating Obama worshipper. I'm sure a lot of people like him were brought into the government during Obama's 8 years, and probably during Biden's tenure, too.
