The city of Kalamazoo, Michigan has now decriminalized public urination, defecation, and littering to be more “equitable.”
Small business owners in the area had voiced their opposition to the effort, but their concerns were ignored.

Kalamazoo Mayor David Anderson said that decriminalizing these offenses will help the city be more “equitable.” City Commissioner Chris Praedel said pretty much the same thing, according to a report from Fox 17, that it is “fair and equitable to who these laws were most affecting, the unhoused population, as well as provide a better solution for those trying to get on their feet.”
“I definitely empathize with the downtown business owners too. They have invested a lot to be in downtown, and a lot of those spots are mom and pop shops where that is their life income. We want to be respectful of that. We hear them. We are listening to them, and we care a lot, but we care about everybody in the community,” Praedel said.
Commissioner Stephanie Hoffman said that the community needs to have more empathy for people crapping in front of their stores.
“If you see a person who may be defecating, someone in their sane mind would not do that,” Hoffman said. “There is an issue, there is a trauma, there is a crisis going on.”

Let’s hire protestors to dox their home addresses and march round their neighborhoods deficating and urinating all over their lawn and sidewalks. They set the rules.
I would bet that there is a city ordinance that says a person must pick up any poop their dog drops on the sidewalk or park grounds. Since it appears that this ordinance/rule applies only to that specific business district someone should take their dog to that area and ensure that there is a cop around when his/her dog poops. If he/she gets a ticket then that person should file a federal law suit for unequal treatment under the 14th amendment because a human pooping on the sidewalk is not fined/arrested but someone who’s dog poops on the same sidewalk is subject to fines and possibly arrest.
my 35 year 7-11 across the street has been an eye sore of litter since Obumfk paid all the urbanites to move out to the burbs. I asked the manager why don’t they take the CCTV clips down to the police station of the littering in progress!?? they said they’ve tried 100 times and were basically told their hands(cops) were tied. so this has been going on for almost 10 years now here in Clinton Twp...

Note to Kalamazoo voters: If the mayor and city council members are subject to recall, guess what you need to do ASAP.
How ashamed should we be for the hundreds of thousands of military veterans who gave their lives and limbs fighting for our Constitutional rights and freedoms??? And look where our supposed justice(sic) system is today! I play music for them and for lots of seniors every week and it makes me tear up to imagine the lives that were wasted.

I’d sell and move. Michigan as a state is ok but there are definitely some places there that need to be abandoned.
So insane. A man can literally shit on the sidewalk of your business and the cops now can’t arrest him? How can this be real? A moron with no decency can ruin your business, causing you to lose your house and your life savings and you just have to take it.

I live in Kalamazoo County, unfortunately, the city brings the rest of the county down. We are a very republican county except for the city.
We don’t go into the downtown area unless we have to, and lots of restaurants have closed, the last time I was in town, we had friends from out of town who were staying at a hotel downtown. We met them for lunch and walked to a restaurant (which it took four before we found one open due to lack of employees), but there were homeless everywhere, it was embarrassing.
I'm guessing people of their high status live in Gated Communities....
