The US hasn’t sent anything particularly sophisticated yet. There are 20 Mi-17 helicopters, but they don’t count as the Ukrainians knew how to operate these already.

Anyone care to speculate just who is manning those sophisticated weapon systems

no speculation needed - the troops manning those systems are ZSU troops trained on the weapons. The training took place at undisclosed locations: some in the US, some in Europe for 4-5 weeks.

Then they were overseen to make sure the weapons were being used properly. Once cleared, the next batch of trainees started class.

The US has some 700,000 rockets in storage; ammo production doubling every 2 weeks.

No; don’t fall for Russian disinformation. All the training information is open source.

Is there any simple way to measure the rate of Russian artillery fire so as to measure the effectiveness of the attacks on Russian artillery depots?

Denys Davydov has a YouTube channel with a couple of updates per day. His map now has an overlay with ground fires detected by a NASA satellite. It’s not going to show 100% of artillery activity but can serve as a proxy. Some fires may be caused by lightning strikes and some artillery hits won’t start fires. Overall, however, it does show concentrations of activity. There has been a definite reduction in the volume of Russian fire. This could be an operational pause after the recent offensive concluded or it could be the impact of the ammo dump hits. Even if the Russian army reworks its logistics to avoid concentration of ammo, it will make resupply more labor intensive, expensive and complicated.

It’s conceivable the Ukrainian Army hits a point of diminishing returns if the ammo does get dispersed. They could switch to counter battery fire, railroad interdiction, hitting command centers or some other set of high value targets.

Yes there is. Gather your passport, fly to Ukraine, rent a vehicle, drive to the front where the Orcs are most concentrated.

Count the shells hitting your position, calculate the rate by adding the number and dividing between the types used: 122mm, 152mm, and MLRS strikes - when the shelling stops, you can assume the local Orc ammo depot has been destroyed.

if you live.

Report back to FR with your conclusions.

"Alot less artillery fire coming from the invaders.

“The result of the destruction of Russian ammunition depots - in the photo On the left is a map of shelling for July 8, on the right - after the destruction of Russian warehouses on July 12.”"

Oryx has been updating their original February post with what they allegedly confirm to be destroyed, abandoned, or captured.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, that post does not list their updates in chronological order, so keeping track of what’s new can be a bit difficult if you’re not obsessively watching for updates.

Algeria is now Italy’s top gas supplier, displacing RuZZia. Energy markets are being remade.

“Next week, Prime Minister Mario Draghi is heading to Algeria — now Italy’s top gas supplier — for the second time this year to discuss bolstering ties between the two countries.”
