Looks like Twitter and a number of other similar entities, possibly including Facebook, are primarily sustained through government subsidy and involvement. That means there was government censorship of the 2020 election that was prohibited by the First Amendment, and their basic form of organization is the same. The new Congress will need to investigate.

Tweet executives will never disclose the enormous number of bots on the platform Bots are controlled and conservatives are banned

Musk played a masterful game of chess here, but it takes a lot of resources to play games like this.

My money is on Elon.

I have had the thought that Twitter has a little CIA baked into their cake, along with that other magical ingredient, CCP.

Twitter will drop this. Musk will require discovery, and he’s no idiot to not have prepared for this. If Twitter stays at it, it will take two years of wrangling. By then, Trump will be in office and the FTC will be looking hard at their fraudulent misleading of investors.

Watch for this to quietly go away soon…

I don’t think this deal is dead by a damn sight. Twitter will sue him and he will get the information he sought in the first place in discovery. After some wrangling and eye poking a settlement will be announced where Musk buys for a lower price.

I’d say Twitter pays to make it go away, but my sense is that they don’t have the money. Also, if this falls apart, Twitter can’t survive the poop storm of shareholder suits it will be hit with.

Basically, this game was over the second Musk bid on them.

Musk can collapse their stock price, which will open a floodgate of shareholder suits. If nothing else, Musk has shown that Twitter is as fake as Biden’s 81 million votes.

I would not be surprised if we find out that Twitter is over 50% bots (fake users).

When I was on the platform, it was filled with users with names like @JohnBoy34494354

Come on, what real person would choose that as an online handle?

It’s more then Musk having grounds for a lawsuit.

Peddling phony traffic numbers inflates ad prices.

Which means Twitter was defrauding their customers.

I have believed that twitter and the others were primarily created to promote leftist goals, and that they are subsidized by rich leftists and helped by special privileges from the government.

I wouldn’t be surprised if twitter (among others) continue to operate because of our tax dollars which makes their attacks on free speech even more egregious

That's exactly what Fox News Corp. has done since election eve 2020.

I don't know anything about what they're doing regarding 1st amendment rights, but they're doing it just the same.

I hope Fox gets taken down for what they've done/are doing. If it takes a Dominion lawsuit, so be it.

Let the never-Trump bastards go back to Australia.

Fascism is the marriage of State and private corporations. It allows the State to bypass the constraints of limited government and let companies like Twitter do the dirty work.

Twitter had to sue, otherwise it would be clear that Musk’s stated reasons for pulling out are true.

They’re obviously hiding the fact that a lot of their “users” are bots.
