Denver, for instance, needs 174 tons of food a day to survive. They have 3 days storage in Denver with 3 days storage at transfer warehouses just outside of Denver. They have a north/south and east/west rail line, and I-25 and I-70 freeways. The airport is 35 miles outside the city.
Denver is a goner in 30 days or less should there be disruptions to their supply chain. The bullets will probably outlast the beans.

Had a conversation at the office along these very lines. The libs were fussing about how much the boss made. I told them it was a case of wealth envy....but to note that in someone else's world they made to much money.

I’ve thought about that a lot. We all talk about having a support group, or a semi-organized neighborhood group. But how do you ensure that everybody runs out of food at the same time? I ask because if they don’t, and some do run out, the ones who do still have food will suddenly become...not your friend. I imagine a situation where stepping outside your door could be a matter of life and death. I live in the country. I BELIEVE my neighbors have some stores of food, but I KNOW they all have guns.
Any city where there is a large portion of poor and uneducated population that will steal and murder without a conscious.
I have a feeling the police would not be our friends in a SHTF scenario. A group of well trained and heavily armed friends with an established command structure that can effectively operate as a team? That have starving families to care for? What could go wrong?

Yeah, security is a huge problem. I think about it a lot (more these days) but don’t really have any good ideas.

Exactly! I guarantee you it’s not the TRULY RICH who are being targeted in Sri Lanka. The TRULY RICH — the ones who caused the problems — will have already fled or never lived there in first place.
Also, define rich. For too many in our country it means anyone who has something you don’t.

One day on a ride with an old freind and a new freind we stopped for a break at a scenic spot.
I started complaining about communists ruining our country ( as usual).
The new freind said he thought socialism and communism were fairer that capatilism.
I asked him how much cash he had on him.
He pulled out 2 dollar bills and counted his change.
I pulled out all I had on me, under a dollar in change.
Then demanded he give me one of his dollars.
He whined that that wasn’t fair.
I whined that he wasn’t really a socialist .
It took a real life example in HIS life to prove to him socialism/ communism is plain old theft.

Few realize or even think about this; but you do, and I do. What the chins are doing is untenable long-term. It is also criminal and abusive of others' liberties (but then, when did the chins ever value liberty for the hoi polloi?).

If it reached the point you describe total shtf I see US dissolving into small armed camps of 50 persons or less. Then there is always the unthinkable every man, woman and child for themselves. Then pray you don’t run out of ammo. Nobody knows the future ….. just have plan B if the rapture doesn’t arrive on
time
I could be surprised, but I don't expect true famines in America. Expensive food? You bet.... but no famine.
