So well-meaning white people moved into formerly sketchy areas. Now their commutes are shorter, or they can take mass transit. They opened restaurants, shops, galleries, and even theaters in these areas that were now burgeoning with activity.
Even though they employed minorities, because the owners are white (even if they are gay) and because the house prices and rents are going up, they are considered the enemy.
