Customers are withdrawing funds and closing accounts after a British bank told them to leave if they didn’t agree with a new pronoun policy.
Halifax revealed new employee name tags featuring preferred pronouns in a tweeted image and captioned it, “Pronouns matter.”
The move has caused customers to criticize the bank for “virtue signaling” and hundreds to say they will end relations with the bank.
“I shall be transferring my [mortgage] over to another bank,” Ryan Link tweeted in response. “One [that] values customer service and short wait times over pronouns and virtue signaling. Loved the good old days when a bank was just a bank.”
Halifax representatives replied to several of the comments that questioned the move, noting that the bank strives for “inclusion” and “equality.”
One representative named “Andy M” told a user: “If you disagree with our values, you’re welcome to close your account.
”Customers then began to follow suit, including Gareth Roberts, a former Doctor Who scriptwriter.
“I’m a homosexual man. I’m appalled by your adoption of this homophobic, woman-hating claptrap, and by your attitude to customers making perfectly reasonable objections to it,” Roberts tweeted, saying he had been a customer since 1988.
Another customer told the Daily Mail that his or her family transferred around $540,000 in investment accounts and savings. Another closed his credit card account, saying: ”Sick to death of woke.”
Halifax’s website noted that it, too, is willing to end relations with customers.

Halifax Bank is appropriately named. Lord Halifax was the Jaybird who wanted to cut a deal with Hitler after the fall of France.
I’d prefer to talk about racism at Starbucks.
They’re about see what comes from dissing 99% of your customers to kowtow to 1%.

I think this new policy was implemented in the last week of June 2022. I would have expected them to be walking it back by now. Funny how so many of the Woke Culture are prone to acting like Kamikazi Style-brainwashed zealots acting in lockstep. Funny & scary.
Nothing more needs to be said. It's all obvious to any thinking person ... which naturally excludes all Democrats/RINOs.
I’ve heard some people in public say their pronouns.
Just anecdotal evidence, but whenever I’ve heard anyone say their pronouns, in every case, someone who appears to be a man says his pronouns are he, him, and his. And every single woman I’ve ever heard address this, has said her pronouns are she, her and hers.
How many “trans” or “gender fluid” or “different” people are there? To hear someone say their pronouns seems to be someone stating the obvious. We may as well get up there and say our name is (fill in the blank) and I have two eyes a nose and a mouth.
Good for my surviving Brit relatives!
Ah yes...those days. Same with a phone company, restaurant, etc.

If we don't boycott utter stupidity, the human race will just
become even MORE STUPID!!! (YES, that is possible.)
It’s not “virtue signaling”.
It’s “Social Justice Warrior” (SJW) stupidity.
Gotta say, I’ve seen a “person” at the corner variety store a couple of times in the past week. I’ve no idea what he/she/it is. My guess is that its pronouns should be them/they.
I quit using a bank and went to a Credit Union several years ago. Bank of America called to ask about what they thought was unusual ATM activity. After 45 minutes on the phone, we determined that was nothing untoward.
The next day I tried to withdraw some cash and the ATM ate my card. When I called, they told me that cancelled my access. “Gee, you’d think you’d share that little tidbit during our 45 minute discussion yesterday wouldn’t you?”
So I asked them to fed ex me a card since I was 600 miles from home and not planning to be home for several weeks. (New job out of town)
They refused to send the card to my current address. They screwed it up and I paid the price. Kiss my 26-year relationship goodbye Bank of America.
On the side, I’ve had a very small account with a credit union since I was a baby. I called them about a car loan and gave them my account number. It was something like 000000044. I’d forgotten that my grandfather was one of the founders. The account rep said “Whoa.” Sort of like “Whoa, you get whatever you want sir.”
If I heard somebody announce their pronouns, my first thought would be that that person is a potential mass shooter. If nothing else, I would avoid being in a crowded place that they might be at also.
Recently met a woman (I guess) who said their pronouns were They/them. I didn’t miss a beat and said mine was “Your Lord and Master”.
Didn’t wait around for their response.
