Let’s debunk the biggest fake widely used by kremlin to justify the russian invasion in Ukraine. You hear it from russian media, you read it in the commentaries left by russian bots, but what do the official numbers say? Let’s check out the report of the OHCHR that russians themselves are often referring to.

Russia want the Ukraine back into the revived Russian Empire.

Doesn't appear they are trying to capture all of Ukraine.

Europe's problem: agree

You forgot the official source of the ENEMY in Ukraine, i.e. The Donbas People's Republic.
Remember them? The DPR are the separatist government.
The people who tell it like it is to the Kremlin.
The people who just gave three foreigners death sentences for fighting for Ukraine.

So, turns out they have a website with public domain reports now available in English, and both the 2019 and 2020 editions confirm that the Kremlin (and all its apologists all over the world) are LYING.

When even the people who are cited as the source of the allegations absolutely say very bluntly it's a complete load of bollocks, that's the time to admit, if you ever bought that bullcrap in February, you were punked by Putin's Propaganda Mill.

Here's the official report, from the DPR. Well, actually, numerous annual reports. So it's not even as if you can claim there was a typo somewhere. They really did the research.

https://eng.ombudsman-dnr.ru/annual-reports/

Preamble:

The Human Rights Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic presented its fourth Annual Report on the activities of the Human Rights Ombudsman during 2020.

It has been prepared pursuant to paragraph 1, Article 19 of the Law of the Donetsk People’s Republic of 3 April 2015, No. 30-INS on the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic. ...

It was also designed to highlight the pressing problems in human rights, to promote their observance and protection.

The presented results of Ombudsman’s activities were made possible through close cooperation with public authorities, administrations of cities and regions, civil society organizations, and dialogue with the judiciary.

From page 20-21:

It is worth noting that the signing of peace agreements helped to reduce the intensity of hostilities. Thus, the number of deaths among the residents of the Donetsk People's Republic decreased by 9 times in 2017 compared to 2014, in 2019 - almost by 17 time, in 2020 - by 50 times. These dynamics reflect the measures within the package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, as well as ceasefire agreements. At the same time, a decrease in casualties among the civilian population was facilitated by the unlimited truce announced in Donbass on 21 July 2019.

Since 1 January 202, as a result of the armed conflict in the territory of the Donestk People's Republic, 44 people have been killed.

And from the conclusion:

Reducing losses 50-Fold compared to 2014 indicates the possibility of returning to a peaceful life. This positive trend became possible, first of all, thanks to the work of the Contact Group for the settlement of the conflict in

Donbass. In particular, the entry into force on July 27 of this year of additional measures for an open-ended ceasefire showed that a lot can be achieved with mutual desire.

Now, the 2021 report (not on this page yet) does suggest a higher number for 2021. There are draft diagrams suggesting the TOTAL number of deaths in that 12 month period was 71...

Sorry, misread the diagram. Clearly it’s 77, not 71.

So, quite a ways short of falling under any conceivable definition of genocide. It’s actually statistically insignificant, given an estimated 2.75 million people lived in Donbas that year but only 70 of them died due to conflict.

If anyone finds that a bit confusing, it’s almost identical numbers to the death toll from the Chicago gangs’ turf wars in the 20s. With a population of between 2.7 million at the start of the period and 3.4 million by the end, the (average of) 70 mob deaths a year is interesting for those who study gang warfare in the 1920s, but even if you multiplied that body count by ten you still wouldn’t be anywhere close to hitting the threshold of calling it a genocide.

In actual fact, the Donbas conflict from January 2019 to February 2022 had reduced to the level of a turf war between two paramilitary groups on opposing sides, with some collateral damage to civilians on both sides. They were mostly taking each other out.

“Of course the Azov bunch never existed. “

Sarcasm aside, nobody’s denying that Azov weren’t a bunch of thugs who did indeed cause a lot of civilian casualties...

UNTIL 2019.

And don’t forget, the source of that’s not a Western source or the Kremlin, it’s the published fact-checked numbers from the DPR’s own ombudsman..

The political institution that represented the separatists FIGHTING Azov, is very explicit - their investigations confirm a body count that’s so low that no credible person could ever call it a genocide.

Although maybe there could be a convincing reason why the DPR would say “Sure, Mr Putin, there’s a genocide going on here!” and THEN say to its own troops “Yup, we’re playing the genocide card”, but THEN publish a report (two years in a row!) saying in effect “Genocide my ass, we had more deaths from drink driving than we had from the Azov-Separatist fighting.”

This entire time I thought Russian Speaking East and South Ukraine seceded because their President was deposed in a violent coup d’etat, and Russian speakers were being persecuted. Silly me…

just BS and propaganda
.
The Uke collapse is going more rapidly now.
.
According to the first reports from the front lines, Russian-led forces took control of the town of Volcheyarovka on June 26. The town is the strategically important area in the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk metropolitan region.

Russian military positions in the town allow to establish fire control over the Lisichansk-Seversk road which is the last one used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for military supply to their positions.

The group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has lost the possibility of withdrawing the remaining forces from Lisichansk. Russian-allied forces have established military positions on the heights in the town and now the Seversk-Lisichansk highway is under full fire control of the artillery of the Russian Federation.

According to the reports from the spot, Russian control was established after fierce clashes. Judging by the footage from the spot, the AFU suffered heavy losses in the area.
.
Today was more huge advances. the L-chansk oil refinery is partly captured and surrounded on three sides. Russians are now fighting west of the refinery in two villages along the Siversk/L-chansk Road....

There is no People’s Republic. It is/will be all Russian controlled. That is why municipal administrators, educators, and healthcare workers are forced to join the party called UNITED RUSSIA. “...Official report from the DPR...” Un hunh.

In Vietnam the Vietcong were useful until the “Peace Talks” were over and then the Vietcong ceased to exist and North Vietnam was the one political force. So it will be with the People’s Republics. The real people in the Donbas love Ukraine.

Meanwhile the Russians take pride in planting the Hammer and Sickle flag in Ukrainian plazas.

You’re aligned with the left & globalists on this.

That makes you CINO, but in your own twisted mind you’re right because you’re taking heat for your bullshit.

That’s liberal logic. Says everything.

China and Russia are allies. Ukraine’s victory is in our national interest. It prevents Russia from moving on Moldova and the Baltic Republics. It also makes a PRC invasion of Taiwan less likely.

SSDD … Same Soviets, Different Day and I gotta give ‘em credit for consistency, too.

They are who they are, but what’s surprising to me is who we are here and how useful Russia’s war on Ukraine is for getting people to open up about themselves.
