Abject Failure at Uvalde Massacre [semi-satire]
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 26 June 2022 | John Semmens

Col. Steve McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, called the police response to the gunman who killed 19 children and two teachers at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas “an abject failure. All the excuses they gave for never attempting to save the victims were false. The claim that they couldn’t get into the room because they needed a key was false. The door was never locked. Even if it had been the police on the scene had a ‘hooligan’ crowbar that could have been used to force a locked door open. The claim that it was too risky to go up against a gunman armed with an AR15 rifle when all they had were pistols was false. Several officers had AR15 rifles. The claim that they needed to wait for ballistic shields was false. All of the officers had body armor and one was photographed wielding a ballistic shield.”

“Ultimately the shooter was brought down by a Border Patrol officer who defied Uvalde School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo’s order to wait for a SWAT team to arrive,” McCraw said. “This was after several earlier attempts by parents and an off-duty city policeman to try to rescue the victims were thwarted by police on the scene—some were tased and others tackled. All were threatened they could be charged with obstructing a police operation. The behavior of the police on the scene not only gave the shooter the opportunity to kill more people. It also allowed some who had been wounded earlier to bleed to death. This incident clearly undermines the contention that police can be trusted to protect people from criminals.”

Arredondo called McCraw’s criticism “unfair. He completely ignores the fact that my handling of the situation resulted in no officers being shot or killed. None of them were terrorized by the fear of being killed. This was because I kept them out of harm’s way. Considering how well-armed the shooter was this was no meager achievement. Not every interaction between criminals and police has had as happy an outcome.”

The Uvalde City Council says it will consider imposing a paid leave of absence on Arredondo. Uvalde Mayor Don McGlaughlin assured voters that “in this town abject failure must carry an appropriate consequence for the person most responsible.”

I’m legitimately waiting for the day that one of these chiefs or some low level idiot admits they were paid to look the other way while a mentally unstable individual commits atrocities in order to push an agenda. I’m genuinely convinced it’s happening.

Conclusion: Somewhere, somehow, somebody other than the shooter wanted to maximize the body count.

It’s a Halligan tool or Halligan bar. It’s a firefighting forcible entry tool . It can be used by itself or in conjunction with a flathead axe or K tool for numerous forcible entry tasks. It works. Used it numerous times in my career. However, nothing opens a residential home door as fast as a sledgehammer. Hit the lock set correctly and it’s open.

New York Post Headline:

Texas cops waited 77 minutes to attempt entering Uvalde classrooms under attack:
report By Jesse O’Neill June 18, 2022 9:39pm Updated

the number 77 in other public events:

On 9/11, Flight 77 hit the (77 ft tall) Pentagon at exactly 77 minutes after takeoff (takeoff: 08:20, crash 09:37).

September, derivative of the Latin word for seven, is the seventh month on the Roman calendar. September 11 is another way of saying 77: 7 x 11.

Another event, the 1984 San Ysidro McDonald’s shooting, lasted 77 minutes.

And another tidbit:

Construction on the Pentagon began on 11 September 1941.

Interesting data points.

77 = mazal [מזל]

77 years since 1945.. events too numerous to list, especially involving the end of the war.
