And the great advantage of an ARTY war is that combat and training are almost the same for the troops. Site, Load, Fire, repeat. Much easier than being a rookie infantryman. The US ARTY at Kasserine actually stopped the German advance even though the gunners were no more experienced than the infantrymen and tankers. Of course we also had developed Time on Target. Something the Germans or Russians never really developed.

[But problem Ukraine does not have an Orlon 10 to correct fire - so not able to use the weapons to full effect. The few UAVs the ZSU has, do not fly for as long or as high as the Orlon; they are not embedded and can be taken away by any one at any time. However the TB2 seems set up and built more for attacking a position than for observing one. Nor does it seem as stealthy as the Orlon. There is not as much information out there on it as the Orlon that I could find.

I’d be surprised if they needed super high resolutions. Unless they’re somehow skulking around within rifle range, artillery spotters on the ground basically see puffs of smoke through their binoculars. Any drone would presumably provide a better view. And it’s a bird’s eye view.

Speaking of bird’s eye views, it’s interesting we haven’t heard much about the role of observation balloons. Are there any? In theory, they could be kitted out with cameras, like their Israeli counterparts.

◽️ Separate units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are leaving the combat area due to low morale, lack of ammunition and lack of support . So, a platoon of the 1st company of the 1st battalion of the 57th motorized infantry brigade, defending in the Lisichansk region, abandoned heavy weapons and left their positions.

◽️At 02.05, in the area of the settlement of Selidovo of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the manpower and military equipment of the 56th motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was defeated . 💥Over 400 nationalists, 10 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 11 field artillery guns, 11 multiple rocket launchers and 28 special vehicles were destroyed as a result of air strikes, missile forces and artillery during the day .

💥 The Russian Air Defense Forces shot down a Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Chervonnaya Dolina region of the Nikolaev region in a day .

◽️Eight Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were also shot down in the areas of Zavody, Chervony Shakhtar, Dementievka, Glubokoye in the Kharkiv region, Krinitsa in the Kherson region, Popasnaya in the Luhansk People’s Republic and in the vicinity of Zmeiny Island.
