UK Army Commander Tells Troops to Prepare for a Land War in Europe

The incoming commander of the British Army has reportedly told his troops to prepare to fight a land war in Europe, citing Russia as a significant threat to peace.

General Sir Patrick Sanders, the British Army’s newly appointed overall commander, is said to have told his troops to prepare for potential deployment in Europe in order to counter the threat of Russia.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, General Sanders — who only assumed full command of the UK’s army last week — told his troops that they are now facing the possibility of having to fight a war on the European continent, an eventuality that they now have to be prepared for.

“I am the first Chief of the General Staff since 1941 to take command of the Army in the shadow of a land war in Europe involving a continental power,” the senior army officer reportedly wrote.

“Russia’s invasion of Ukraine underlines our core purpose – to protect the UK by being ready to fight and win wars on land,” he continued. “It is my singular duty to make our Army as lethal and effective as it can be.”

“We are the generation that must prepare the Army to fight in Europe once again,” Sanders is also reported as saying. “There is now a burning imperative to forge an army capable of fighting alongside our allies and defeating Russia in battle.”

The incoming commander’s comments come as leaders across the Western world steady themselves and their nations for what now looks like it could be a long war, with the chief of NATO telling German publication Bild that the current conflict in Ukraine could last years.

When the Germans invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, many Soviet subjects, especially in the Baltic States and Ukraine, supported the invasion, seeing the Nazis as liberators. With the possibility of the collapse of the USSR, Stalin recognized that while the Russians would not fight for Communism, they would fight for Russia. So after almost a quarter century of denigrating Russian nationalism, Stalin and the Communists decided to glorify it. Stalin made peace with the Russian Orthodox Church which had been persecuted after the Bolshevik Revolution, with most parishes shuttered and thousands of clergy killed, often in brutal and gruesome manners.

The question arises: if the U.S. ever went to actual war with Russia and/or China, would the Deep State be as pragmatic as Stalin was and end the denigration of the people of flyover country, who have traditionally filled the ranks of the military? If our military is defeated in the South China Sea or Eastern Europe, would Biden and his handlers recognize that the anti-traditional, feminist, pro-pervert policies have led to the defeat? I don't think these people are as clever or realistic as Stalin was. The ineffective sanctions against Russia are emblematic of the Deep State's and the NATO leadership's incompetence.

“1982. The Falklands War.”

Oh yeah, forgot. That’s like the US winning the Grenada war (the last war we won outright). So impressive.

I see how at 1.11 minutes into the video there is a giant 666 and a giant “peace” sign with the troops standing on it…….

I’m tired of them ‘borrowing’ every thing our people come up with. This will not end well.

Then why hasn’t Soviet Russia already won?

You realize Russia could have conducted a "shock and awe" bombing campaign like we always do and leveled every major city and walked right in and taken over the entire country if they wanted to?

The goal was to LIBERATE the ethnically Russian parts of the country. And, when liberating people and trying to win any doubters over, you do things the way the Russians are doing them>

You completely ignorant in EVERY conceivable way about this war.

Soviet Russia? No, Russophobic moron, Russia is not a communist nation. It's a conservative nation. And, the Russians are protecting ethnic Russians from a neo-Nazis we've funded and war we provoked.

Clueless bastards like itching for a hot war with Russia and a danger to our national security and the safety of Americans.

If you have a hard-on for Putin and Russia, take a shower or castrate yourself.

All of NATO should be preparing for a land war.

It would be very unwise to let Ukraine lose.

I understand that they don’t want to cause a provocation that results in a wider war. But I fully expect that NATO will continue delivering stronger and stronger weapons until Ukraine is able to start pushing Russia back.

Russia grows weaker by the day, so eventually, NATO will be able to deliver stronger weapons without much concern of a Russian retaliation.

UK has been blunt about it. Pelosi was pretty blunt about it. The rest of NATO needs to be clear to Russia that Russia will not be allowed to win this war. I doubt Russia will listen, but getting them to listen is the only way to bring this war to an abrupt end.

Your snark is unwarranted, perhaps because you know nothing at all of the Falklands War.

It was a logistical nightmare for Britain, as it had to sail 8,000 miles to get to the Falklands and South Georgia Island. Britain had to transport EVERYTHING by sea: Troops; supplies; materiel, etc. And Argentina had a respectable navy and air force (respectable, but not formidable). And, Britain had to divide its attentions between the Falklands and South Georgia Island, which are 1,000 miles apart.

And that makes the British battle-hardened and ready to take on the Russians?

Okay....

We get in another European war only if we are pure idiots. There is no excuse for a war in Europe unless that powers that be have forgotten what a world war is really like. It will not end well for humanity and will not remain conventional and all for the corrupt crap hole known as the Ukraine. Madness...

You are assuming facts not in evidence.

Point out to me where I said that Britain was ready to take on Russia.

I was responding to the comment that Britain hasn’t won a land war in ages. I pointed out that it won the Falklands War. For some peculiar reason that set you off. Why are you so fragile over such a thing?

By 2030, if the world is still intact, the US is going to be out of Europe, and the UK a banana republic.

Literally, defective American bombs were the only reason why most of their fleet wasn’t sunk. As a side note, per scale this war was rather pathetic.
