UK Army Commander Tells Troops to Prepare for a Land War in Europe

The incoming commander of the British Army has reportedly told his troops to prepare to fight a land war in Europe, citing Russia as a significant threat to peace.

General Sir Patrick Sanders, the British Army’s newly appointed overall commander, is said to have told his troops to prepare for potential deployment in Europe in order to counter the threat of Russia.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, General Sanders — who only assumed full command of the UK’s army last week — told his troops that they are now facing the possibility of having to fight a war on the European continent, an eventuality that they now have to be prepared for.

“I am the first Chief of the General Staff since 1941 to take command of the Army in the shadow of a land war in Europe involving a continental power,” the senior army officer reportedly wrote.

“Russia’s invasion of Ukraine underlines our core purpose – to protect the UK by being ready to fight and win wars on land,” he continued. “It is my singular duty to make our Army as lethal and effective as it can be.”

“We are the generation that must prepare the Army to fight in Europe once again,” Sanders is also reported as saying. “There is now a burning imperative to forge an army capable of fighting alongside our allies and defeating Russia in battle.”

The incoming commander’s comments come as leaders across the Western world steady themselves and their nations for what now looks like it could be a long war, with the chief of NATO telling German publication Bild that the current conflict in Ukraine could last years.

If Russia hits NATO, the war is instantly over.

Russia will win in Ukraine even if NATO got involved. It would be another Vietnam, at best, for NATO. And, never mind the possibility of WWIII where NATO is facing both Russia and China.

“Like we can believe that the British would fight for anything other than perversity...
This isn’t the 1940s British...”

The Brits have a formidable military, though obviously much smaller than the war years.

Oh, I believe in the MIC thing completely. After all, nowadays that is pretty much the only product we produce.

But, Austin, Milley, Biden have all changed their tune in the last couple weeks. Even NBC indicated that Biden has been telling everyone to stop the rabid talk.

And more importantly we have pulled back on weapons approval and even further on weapons delivery. If you wanted to escalate the conflict you wouldn’t do that.

I think the debacle this has turned out to be both militarily and economically has created a real come-to-Jesus moment. They are hinting that Zelensky should make a deal. The EU Big 3 went to Kiev to beg Zelensky to negotiate.

Only Boris Johnson went by himself and offered a long term training program (10,000 every 3 months) for Ukrainian troops. And I don’t know if you remember, but a month ago the UK wanted to set up a mini-NATO including Poland, some Baltic countries and “maybe Turkey.”

Johnson was also the one who talked Zelensky into reneging on the tentative deal he was making with the Russians in Istanbul in March. He offered him a better deal - all the weapons he wanted and money.

Russia would kick our ___ and the Pentagon knows it. We are on the verge of an economic collapse. I think the U.S. wants out of this so bad they can taste it...:-)

“Thank the Lord Gen. Wesley Clark is retired.”

And so is Colonel Douglas Macgregor (who seems to have a following here on FR), who drew up Wesley’s war plans for the Balkans intervention. Good riddance to both.

Currently the British army has two (2) deployable army divisions.

That is pitiful.

The Brits only have two deployable army divisions. That’s pitiful. And they’re probably Woke to the max.

“Currently the British army has two (2) deployable army divisions.”

We currently have ten Army divisions, but I don’t know if they are all deployable at present, especially on short notice. But I think they could all be brought up to snuff in a hurry if the need arose.

The Brits have two (2) deployable army divisions. That is hardly formidable.

The neocon globalists in the US and UK seem to want WW3 bad, but I don’t see the rest of Europe going along with it.

Oh sure, the countries that are not constantly making nuclear threats, who are not currently invading any country, or making any threats to invade or strike targets in NATO are the ones who "want WW3 bad." Makes perfect sense.

“Russia will win in Ukraine even if NATO got involved.”

Then why hasn’t Soviet Russia already won? According to you and your buddies big, bad Russia is so awesome it can take on all of NATO and win, yet the vaunted Red Army is getting eviscerated by a third rate military power in Ukraine.

Seriously, once the scumbag Russians ran headlong into flaming death at Hostomel the war was over for Russia.

Formidability is not wholly dependent on size. Quality often trumps size.

Hell, in 1991 Iraq had the fourth largest military in the world. So what? That military sucked.

As the Putin fanbois get more and more outlandish and disconnected from reality the more you can tell that Russia is losing the war.

Gone are the snide remarks about how Putin would be eating lunch in Kyiv a week after the invasion started. Gone are the threats that Russia would keep going when they reached the Polish border.

Now these impotent and pathetic tools sound no different from the Nazi propagandists who told the German people of the victories that started at Normandy, and then Paris, then Bastogne, then the Rhine, and finally Berlin.

Pity them. They’re in denial.

USA’s is like a twisted joke, a childish cartoon, as if they really do not want to recruit. Is the Army really using it?

*Without going into all the recent pre 2022 history and details, and both before and simultaneously while sending naval ships from Murmansk to both the Eastern Med and Black Sea’s - in 2022:

— The RU Navy held wargames roughly 150 miles off the Irish/British Coast, which involved 140 RU Navy ships. During this exercise, imagery revealed RU Navy boats (RUN’s) up to the 12nm territorial coastal boundary.

— In January and February of 2022 RU Navy and Air Force (the “runs and rufies”) significantly increased harassment of both British naval and merchant marine, as well as increased shadowing of EU merchant shipping, including multiple RUAF (rufies) flights into the air space of multiple countries in Europe.

— The two weeks before RU invaded UA, the RU Navy (RUNs) began loitering and eventually roughly surrounded Britain, and of course part of W/NW/N France, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway. Poland, and the Baltics.

— In the past month, multiple goverment sources in Moscow have revealed both the goal and morality of taking back what was the Warsaw Pact.

*******

All along, the greater RU/CIS and Chinese macro strategy behind controlling the energy supply to Wesrern Europe, and controlling Eastern Med/Suez shipping traffic from the Persia. Gulf, and trade from India and China has been to have carte blanche influence over EU finance, trade, and military policies.

The goal remains the same.

*******

With the leftist and Chinese/Russian criminal fraud puppets running every branch of US government, and the Pentagon, nations across Europe must jump into high gear, or their choice will be speaking Russian, or looking like Aleppo or Mariupol... or both.
