Biden Hopes To Solve Inflation With Even More Inflation, Handing Out Gas Rebate Cards… There Is Just One Problem

While the Biden administration and congressional Democrats scramble to blame inflation on anyone but them ahead of midterms, a scheme to pour gasoline on the fire in the forms of fuel rebate cards has already been derailed by the ongoing chip shortage, according to the Washington Post.

Some White House officials also expressed concern that there would be no way to prevent people from using the cards for purchases other than gasoline.

What’s more, the plan would likely require congressional approval, and “face long odds among lawmakers wary of spending more money.”

Every day the White House proposes some increasingly more ridiculous and desperate “solution” to high gas prices:

Wednesday: windfall tax Thursday: oil fuel export limits Friday: rebate cards

Meanwhile, Biden aides have been researching whether he can invoke the Defense Production Act to mover more diesel and refined products in the event of localized shortages around the country, two people told the Post, while another suggestion has been to encourage state governors to lower or waive their gas taxes.

The ill-fated gas card push comes after the White House has taken a number of failed actions to try and lower the price of fuel, from releasing a historic amount of oil from the nation’s strategic petroleum reserve – which President Trump attempted to top off, only to be shot down by Congressional Democrats, and threatening to hit oil companies with windfall taxes.

Meanwhile, the average price of gasoline rose nationally above $5 per gallon for the first time this past weekend, which – according to recent polling – is creating widespread frustration among voters.

This, the Post notes, is “increasing the likelihood that voters punish Democrats this fall and give Republicans control of at least one house of Congress next year.”

On Wednesday, Biden said he was “doing everything in my power to blunt Putin’s gas price hike,” repeating the party talking point that the crippling inflation – which began right after he took office, is the fault of Russian President Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine.

“We’re going to work to bring down gas and food prices. We can save families money and other items,” Biden added.

Not even the Post buys “Putinflation” – suggesting that “The run-up in gas prices has many factors, but it was intensified by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and subsequent Western sanctions on the Kremlin, which disrupted supply from what had been the world’s third-largest oil producer.”

Why don’t we have a strategic chip stockpile or reserve?

And where was the baby formula reserve?

Republican politicians better inject some honesty here. The solutions to correct the economic course of America are not going to be pretty. Our problems not going to be solved overnight. It is going to take years to fix things.

Every penny government spends is another step in the wrong direction. This problem is just beginning. The parallels to prior economic times is not 40 years ago, but 50 years ago. We can't repeat the same problems of the 70's and wait for another Reagan. We can't have 13 years of vacillating economic and monetary policies. If we don't do something radical, austere and now, then we will be repeating the 70's and early 80's on steroids.

The Fed needs to do it's small part. That's raise interest rates, but do it big and do it now - 750 basis points, not 75. The Fed has to stop quantitative easing - NOW.

The labor force needs to be corrected - deport every eff'n illegal alien and foreign national with a work visa.

Have the greatest tax cut ever. Completely eliminate all business taxes along with across the board tax cuts for individuals.

Massive portions of government need to be shuttered. Start with every single regulatory agency - completely shutter them. EPA gone. Energy Department gone - spin off nukes to the military. Eliminate the FBI, Homeland Security and all intelligence agencies less two, and then slash the budgets of the remaining two. Shutter the vast majority of Health and Human Services. Shutter everything that has to do with healthcare. Shutter every board and commission that you never heard of and never did anything but take from you. Fix our schools by shuttering the Department of Education. Fire everyone of their drag queen leftist asses. Eliminate every frickin' green and climate change program. Eliminate all grants and subsidies to colleges and universities. Eliminate all foreign aid. Cut the defense budget in half. Fire every woke general and give dishonorable discharges to every faggot and transgender freak. The military should be reduce to only those elements that kill and break things and provide direct logistical support.

And this is just the start. Look at the list of government agencies, boards and commissions. If you never heard of it, if they never did anything for you, if they don't positively affect more than 50% of middle and lower class citizens, then it gets shutter.

By the way, I don't give a damn about all the lazy ass unemployed government employees this would cause. They caused the problem, they get to feel the pain. They can find jobs in the private sector and actually work for a living.

I heard the card idea was scuttled because of the chip shortage.

What happened to the nice cursive writing styles of the previous generations? Hardly anyone writes in cursive any more.

We will be thrilled when JoeB issues his Executive Order commanding the wind to turn wind mills. No one wants to see first hand what happens when the wind does not blow, as the shocking realization came to Germany a while back - windmills don’t work if there is no wind.
