I ordinarily would not take this news item seriously except that Ukraine already privately admitted that last week they shot down their own airplane after having initially celebrated shooting down what they first thought was a Russian aircraft.

Sorry, but you need to do more research. The internet is chock full of articles, posts, etc. about both the lack of manpower in quantity and in quality.
They have sustained massive losses, they are surrendering in large numbers, they have left the battle and in large numbers have left Ukraine. Even their mercenaries have decreased by almost half (from over 6,000 now down to 3,500)....both from death and just leaving and going home. Their forces are now only 20% combat forces and 80% territorial defense.
When the pentagon says 200,000 troops are missing it’s time to face the facts.
This is a completely failed situation and all sides know it and the west is desperately looking for an exit ramp.
Our media lies to us about everything and this war is no exception.
