This is one of those days when the Babylon Bee staff must shrug and wonder why they work so hard, when the real world of the left is working for you for free. A real story:
The Mona Lisa was attacked by a cake-throwing eco-warrior in a bizarre stunt that thankfully failed to damage her famous smile.
Videos posted on social media appear to show a young man in a wig and lipstick arriving at the Louvre in Paris in a wheelchair Sunday — then leaping up and attacking Leonardo da Vinci’s 16th-century masterpiece. The man, who was not immediately identified, first tried to “smash the bulletproof glass,” one witness said, according to Agence France-Presse.

Charged with batter e no doubt.
i dont remember the glass when I was at the Louvre 2005 but I do remember some killer looks from the security guys 10 feet away from the painting telepathically sending mind signals not go any closer..
Apropos, the Mona Lisa story, back in 1991 some weirdo attacked Michelangelo's statue of David with a hammer, smashing chunks off of it. What madness would drive someone to attack works of art?

My father had that album in his collection. I was a big Herb Alpert fan as a kid, and I never heard a note of his music.
Will his punishment be a whipping?
I still have my copy! 🙂

Not bad. Some days we have to put the serious stuff aside and celebrate wordplay.
I think you have in mind the attack on the Pieta in St. Peter’s basilica. Apparently it was repaired so that the damage is not visible (but now tourists can’t get close to the statue). I never heard that the statue of David was attacked.
Yep both by Michalangelo and two of the greatest ever. The idiot who attacked the Pieta with a hammer no less was a crazed Aussie Hungarian which I also happen to be. Never had an inkling to ever do any vandalism in my life though.
Apparently Michelangelo said something to the effect that sculpting a statue wasn't that difficult--you just had to remove the stone that shouldn't be there. At least that's how I remember something from an Art Appreciation class many years ago.
I remember that album. My mom was a big fan of Herb Alpert’s The Tijuana Band.
