“Pfizer vaccinations are killing people and causing healthy people to become disabled.”

???

I didn’t see that anywhere in the linked article.

With the 5 minutes later take down/suspended line, I think the original poster was sarcastically noting how quickly they (the content monitors at the social media websites) react to politically incorrect/disfavored content but somehow are asleep at the switch when an actual threat to shoot up a school was posted.

Posting “(Crickets)” as a final line would have helped.

Not sure if the chain of events would have been that much different even if the content monitoring algorithms had alerted on the threats the killer had posted.

Just think through all the safeguards that would need to be in-place to prevent accidental (or deliberate) spoofing of the the AI monitoring system by some poster just blowing off their anger. Once satisfied the threat is 1) real, and 2) serious, the location of the threatening person needs to be determined, and, once that is done, the chain of emergency LE notifications begun. Finally, the lock down notification has to be received and acted upon at the school. Seen in this context, 30 minutes is not a long time.

Protective measure, criminal countermeasure ad infinitum. The shooters in the last two mass shooting incidents wore body armor

That is not an argument against improving security at schools but let’s not limit it to just schools. Any place where groups of disarmed persons are required to congregate presents an equally attractive target. And better steps to make such concentrations safe need to be taken.

Society also has to be clear eyed about the continuing costs of such an approach. If you want 24/7/365 coverage by trained professionals and a secure facility, you’ve got to pay for it somehow.

Society also needs to admit the problem isn’t the gun/knife/weapon, it’s the individual. Restricting access to guns does not constrain those determined to harm others. There have been mass stabbings at schools in China and in the streets of downtown Tokyo and incidents in France and Sweden involving delivery trucks. There needs to be a change in the unwillingness of society to deal with persons manifesting apparently dangerous behavioral or psychological problems.

And that brings us full circle back to social media since these are the forums where many of these troubled people first begin manifesting their issues. How soon do you begin reacting to posted texts, pictures, and images? What happens to individual rights when the system is tripped? Can a reactive legal system be retooled to be proactive?

Answering these questions will be far tougher than hiring more SROs and hardening school entrances.
