Much of the fighting in Ukraine is taking place in the east of the country, in the Donbas region.
This part of Ukraine has historic ties to Russia and might have been expected to fall easily to the Russian military invasion.

While Europe rushes to shore up its defences and maintain a united front against Russia, in Ukraine the long weeks of conflict show no sign of coming to an end.
In the towns and villages around the capital Kyiv, where Russian troops committed some of the worst atrocities in this war, bodies are still being found.
As Ukrainians come to identify their loved ones, the government is also collecting the remains of Russian soldiers killed in the fighting.
But - unclaimed by the Russians - these bodies are now piling up in refrigerated containers in Kyiv.
It should be remembered that there are many villages in the Donbas where Ukrainian is spoken. In the steel mill town of Alchevsk Russian is overwhelmingly spoken but my wife’s grandmother spoke an intergradient between the two languages. Many Russian speaking people of the Donbas are fighting bravely against the Russians.

What's left of Ukraine's military should spend the 50 billion like drunken sailors because they can't take it with them. The only winner in this conflict is China, now measuring the drapes on Russia's Far East. Most of our borrowed money will end up in the world manufacturer's pocket. Based on recent history, most of Brandon's financed weaponry will soon be abandoned to the black market.

The Neocons have also taken Ukrainians and turned them again against Ukraine, not many, but probably just as many as you’re referring to. Anyway, there’s more and more talk about you guys in Poland getting your piece of the action (a slice of Ukraine), but it only happens if the war continues.

As to Ukrainian protests, you wouldn’t believe any links that I post, so why bother? Ukrainians moms just LOVE watching their kids get ground up by Russian artillery in lieu of trying to reach a settlement.
