How could the vote for Reagan from 1980 to 1984 have dropped by 8% while his national margin went up by 8%?
What kind of crack are they smoking?
The last 3 election numbers for jews are disgusting.
Makes me embarrassed for my fellow JINOs.
But, then again, I’m from MA, so the disgusting/embarrassed applies to just about everybody else in my state.
James Baker was in the Cabinet?
Trump-no more than 24%. 2 tries. Not worth fighting for. Same with blacks.
I didn’t remember that one. However, Watt’s famous comment should have helped, showing sensitivity towards the importance of affirmative action and Jews.
The only place where Jews are more over-represented is the Supreme Court. Depending on how you weigh things, they were outnumbered only by the Catholics, and by them by 2:1, or should I say, 6:3. Arguably, if weighting for the general population, they are the most over-represented group.
Victimhood mentality
Without Dems going after people’s fears they would have 0 votes whatsoever.
I still believe that less than 40% of america is democrat.
Jews as a group are some of the smartest people on the planet. Their glaring weakness is their political instincts. Poor political instincts make lots of bad things happen.
Amazing. And what did they have against Ike?
I think we should just let Jews vote, with the win going to the loser.
Wonder how many voted for Adolph Hitler back then and how many would vote for him today if he ran as a democrat?
Will I get my knuckles wrapped if I suggest that American Jews do not know how it is to be a Jew - really. Not compared to what Israelites face day in day out. Or what there ancestors faced pre WWII.
Ferraro in 84.
“Not worth fighting for. Same with blacks.”
I disagree. I think blacks may surprise you. I’m not saying a majority of blacks would vote GOP, but I think it is certainly possible they can vote GOP in numbers that would exceed anything the Jewish vote can garner.
James Watt, Reagan’s interior secretary? What and when was his comment?
Barry Goldwater was the first major party candidate of Jewish ancestry (on his father’s side only, and a Christian by religion) and he got only 10% of the Jewish vote, less than other Republican nominees.
Sec of Treasury
He was asked about the diversity of a particular committee in the early or middle part of the first term (probably by someone concerned about the relative lack of tree-huggers) and replied to the effect that the committee was very diverse as it was composed of (or possibly had) “a black, a woman, two Jews, and a cripple”.
If you care enough to google the money part of the phrase, you can find out more about context.
As I recall, she was a WOP, not merely married to one, but I take it that she was one that got along well with the NYC Jewish community.
