The "Bernie Sanders-AOC" of French politics Jean-Luc Melenchon missed the second round of the presidential vote last month but his strong third place showing became a catalyst for a campaign to promote Melenchon as the only viable force to keep President President Emmanuel Macron in check.
Melenchon has touted himself as the next Prime Minister of France if the "Left" could win the upcoming legislative elections of June 12th and 19th.
His "France Unbowed" (LFI) party this week concluded agreements with the "Green Left", the Communists and the Socialists to run a coordinated slate of candidates across hundreds of the 577 National Assembly seats being contested next month.
Kept out of the agreement were the New Anticapitalist Party and Trotskyists whose presidential candidates scored 1.32 percent of the presidential vote combined in the first round.
Jordan Bardella, President of Marine Le Pen's National Rally party, says that Le Pen has no interest in being a Prime Minister for President Emmanuel Macron and his destructive economic policies.

Polling data at the end of the week indicating 34 percent of the popular vote in the first round of the legislative elections June 12th for the "Left" and 24 percent for Emmanuel Macron's alliance. The National Rally back at 21 percent.

People who can find common cause with socialists and communists like this are not fit for any form of trust or service.
Are some Frenchmen still wearing those Yellow Vests while they protest? I thought that had ended last spring.
The new rush just sees them as yellow click bait.
