Schumer: "Fight Inflation By Raising Taxes" [semi-satire]

Claiming that "the inflation we are seeing now is due to the unwarranted prosperity inflicted on the country by former President Trump's tax cuts," Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) called for "the repeal of those cuts and the implementation of additional levies as needed."

"Inflation occurs when too much money is in the hands of consumers," the Senator contended. "Flush with cash they have little incentive to economize. They feel free to indulge their whims and selfish desires. Taking this money away from them via higher taxes will stifle these anti-social spending habits. With more money safely in the hands of the government more socially beneficial uses can be funded."

Schumer was vague about the specifics on how the government would spend the higher taxes, but confidently asserted that "whatever spending the government does is better researched, analyzed, and implemented than the frivolous spending done by most private consumers." He rejected objections contending that consumers will have a harder time putting food on the table if their taxes are increased, saying "too many Americans are already overweight or obese. Spending on food is one of the frivolous outlays we need to cutback on."

One sure fire way to cut inflation, is to impose higher taxes, not only on the working and rich class, but on all prices of goods and services.

If taxes were to double the prices of goods and services, then, nobody would be buying, thus, with nobody buying, the prices of those goods and services would be, essentially, zero. Thus, no inflation.

The democrats have but one thought. That is to raise taxes. That one thought drives all their other thinking. Just listen to them abd you will start to see. When everything is costing you more at the grocery store, why would you go along with the democrats raising taxes. The reason why they want to is because there are 6.6 million people who are waiting for an overdue refund check from the IRS.

“...why would you go along with the democrats raising taxes.”

Because you are conditioned to think that since the government is running your lives, and you can’t, they should have the money to protect you from anything to include yourself. This is the premise that gets liberals elected every couple of years. People are either too stupid, lazy, or on government assistance and think they are okay as long as Uncle Sugar pays the bills or disqualifies theirs. There are a lot of room temp IQ’s out there. And it’s the government form of participation.
