I bet it’s a sin only because the teacher is white.

It wasn’t like I spent days in the field, LOL! My Aunt and her husband farmed - still do, well into their 90’s! They had the first ‘organic’ farm in Wisconsin. As a kid I escaped the mean city streets and spent the summers with my Aunt on her farm.

Everything we see as ‘everyday’ now; Solar and Wind Power, hydro-Electricity, heated flooring, heating the whole house with a wood house, etc. were things she and Uncle Don were doing 60 years ago. We all thought they were nuts, LOL! They were VERY off-grid.

She planted cotton because she was convinced she could create cloth and sew all of their own clothes. They were the first true (and still only) Hippies in my family. The cotton never panned out, but picking it was pretty awful with all the spiky pods on the bolls and all. Ouch! However, caring for her mean and evil GOATS was an even worse chore, LOL!

I learned so much from Alice, though. Her simple recipes are family favorites and I can find lots of things to eat in Nature. (Fiddlehead Ferns, Nettle Tea, Mushrooms, Elderberry, wild blackberries, etc.) Glad to still have her in my life. She is a dying resource, for sure, but hopefully I am carrying on some of her legacy.

All of their kids left the farm, but ended up in Alaska fishing and selling Salmon & seafood and such to the lower 48. It’s a rough life, but they love it.

Alice was Country when Country wasn’t cool. ;)

The cotton is not the point.

The “forced to apologize” is.

I want to grow Burley Tobacco in the worst way. It’s a lucrative cash crop. But, ‘Mr. Moral High Ground’ won’t let me. :(

How about letting people make their own decisions, Eh?

“he should have stood his ground”

Normal people should stop apologizing for being normal simply because some woke leftist freak has found something else to be offended by.

Perhaps, instead of offering an apology, offering a large middle finger and loud GFY would be the best response.

It’s been said “the best defense is a good offense.”

I hope the commies succeed in wiping out all references to slavery. Then we can tell them we have no idea what they are talking about and to stfu.

Yes; but then we will have no standard to define what they are doing to us.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I have seen a photo from about 60 years ago of a priest holding a live snake, a small one, while talking to some children about Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden.

Fortunately PETA didn't exist yet to file a complaint.

It was down in Louisiana,
just about a mile from Texarkana.
In them old cotton fields back home.

Just about a mile? More like a country mile.

Didn’t we just read that the leftist San Fran schoolboard members were tossed out in a recent election? And illegals were allowed to vote, and those illegals were the key vote to toss out the leftists.

If that’s true, I suspect that this school is in deep doo-doo.

Yep, here it is...

The war against Truth continues. I would think this would be an excellent lesson.
