I’ve not been a fan of his, but I wouldn’t term my views of him to be as negative as others. I haven’t followed him closely. The Ukraine has not interested me as much as it has seemed to interest others.
His assets were worth about 37 million hryvnias (about US $1.5 million) in 2018. (As per Wikipedia) See below for a vastly different estimate of his worth.
Here’s a list of the comparable wealth of some of our Congress critters. Some of them developed their wealth prior to entering Congress. Others developed theirs while in Congress.

Not knowing much of anything about him, I reviewed this Wikipedia presentation. I would urge you to consider how sanitized it might be. It seems rather reasonable. It seems rather detailed. It seems to fairly touch on some negatives as well as positives. Others may know enough about him to spot some errors I wouldn’t have.

As for his reported $35 million dollar home in Florida, here is a link on the topic. Down below, there is a link to a site that paints a possible different picture about his properties and other assets.
Here is a link to a site that has a completely different estimation of his net worth and assets.

He was connected to some investment firms. I can’t say if they were legit, crooked, or if this report is baked.
Right now his popularity in the Ukraine is reported to be in the range of 80%.
Foreign governments have issued citations praising him for his handling of the war.
Some people here hate him with a passion.
I neither like the guy or dislike him.
I see the Ukraine as the underdog here. Russia has a large army inside his nation. It’s doing pretty much what it seems to want to do.
It seems to be paying a heavy toll for it. So is the Ukraine. It’s war.
It’s a shame it came to this.
In order to understand what’s going on in Ukraine, one needs to know the background of Ukraine. This is an excellent article.

And Zelenksy banned all opposition parties that supposedly favor Russian, and keep in mind that a huge number of Ukrainian citizens speak Russian, and all news other than Ukraine government news.

On Saturday and Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky invoked his emergency powers under martial law to suppress several opposition political parties and implement a “unified information policy.”
In an address to the nation delivered Sunday, he announced a temporary ban on “any activity” by 11 political parties.
The ban includes the Opposition Platform – For Life party, which holds 43 seats in Ukraine’s national parliament and is the largest opposition party.
