Firstbo r I thought I’d as well!
Yeah, I read the list expecting #1 to be “Right Here, Right Now”, and was disappointed.
In Living Color’s “Cult of Personality” could also be on the list.
Best of the bunch:
Revolution, Beatles (1968)
Back in the USSR, Beatles (1968)
Eve of Destruction, Barry McGuire (1965)
A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall, Bob Dylan (1963)
I grew up during the cold war.
I grew up with this music.

I was crawling around Nukes
when I was 18 years old.
I remember this - the Democrats
stabbed Americans in the back.
They still do and they will continue
to do so.
My favorite of the tunes?
Der Kommissar, Falco.
Too much trouble to get the title right?

Thank you for your selfless and dedicated service defending our Great Republic.
From Planet of the Apes The Musical: Rock Me Dr. Zaius!
To close it out: Jesus Jones “Right Here, Right Now” from 1991.
Those rockers sure like "freedom," but I think they are as politically naive as any. Sting, for example. Celebrations of weakness and such: they know the class that gives them cash.
Hadn’t heard that in forever.
Thanks!
I was gonna say “war, what is it good for.”
Then maybe the 99 Balloon song.
Yes too much trouble. Especially when I googled "Randy Newman Let's drop the big one" and half the threads came back with exactly that. Some with "Drop the big one" and one of the first page "Let's drop the big one now".
I don't know what the right title is, and don't particularly care. Anyone alive in the 70's knows exactly what I was referring to.
“War, what is it good for”. Is a great song.
But I have to disagree with it’s premise. Sometimes you have to go to war with evil. War is a horrible thing, but so is subjugation by evil.
I’m thankful I’m not growing up in a world dominated by Nazi’s. Instead I’m growing up in a world dominated by idiots. It’s far from perfect but it is a lot better.
Today Biden asked us to imagine a world where the tobacco industry was immune to prostitutes. (sigh)
