That’s the thing with Chinese food; an hour later and you’re hungry again.
Shanghai is being punished / a show of force is being made - for political reasons.
The only incomplete answer is that Shanghai is the political base of the ostensible “anti-Xi” clique of former Presidents Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao.
That it makes a great excuse to release phony videos like these that get everyone in the West freaked out enough to scuttle their economies?

That each time the body gets the disease - mild or not - the overall effect wears the person down permanently.
If this is true - and they know it - and are NOT sharing that information it's an act of war. The whole country - all of China - should be declared a 'war crime'...
I don’t know what to make of this latest shutdown China is enacting, but this just isn’t about Covid (I know it’s pretty obvious at this point).
What is the long term goal from this latest lockdown? Is it simple as setting up a scenario for the November midterm elections where the USA plays fast and loose with mail-in voting again?
Maybe I’m making too much out of this, but something doesn’t sit right and I refuse to believe this is merely part of some Covid prevention strategy.

I haven’t been living my life in Covid fear, but when you see stuff like this image and story coming out of China, I really begin to wonder what might be on the horizon…

Nothing and maybe less.
This is NOT about covid, It is about Xi Jinping’s edit of zero tolerance - As the leader he cannot be wrong, So the cadre must produce the numbers that prove that. Numbers is the name of the game. If people stare because the Party tells them the food is contaminated that does not matter as long as the numbers prove the Leader right.
As for knowledge - they often test multiple people with the same swab - one after the other in the mandatory testing program, no matter the weather: hot cold, rain snow, line up in the hundreds to wait.
Or they could just start hunting and killing the enforcers. That would be much more effective.

Here is some pure speculation:
The original prototype for COVID was 100% fatal in human subjects.
The lab release was accidental.
The international distribution of the virus was vindictive and intentional.
The COVID genome was unstable and quickly mutated into less lethal forms.
The Chinese are worried that the virus in uncontrolled distribution could revert to a more lethal form.
The Chinese have repeatedly encountered more lethal forms of COVID in their experiments with vaccines to prevent COVID.
Their vaccine (SinoVax) is no more effective than the Western mRNA treatments in preventing COVID.
