Videos surfacing on social media in the past week from Shanghai – and rapidly deleted on government-controlled sites like Weibo – show mounting desperation as a poorly planned coronavirus lockdown leaves the heart of China’s economy with rotting food and a lack of basic necessities.
Many of the videos surfacing on Weibo, China’s most popular micro-blogging platform, cannot be independently verified and disappear shortly after they appear, but translators outside of the country have saved and circulated them, painting a picture of a growing catastrophe alongside anonymous warnings from farms and food distributors that their supplies are rotting while people fear starvation because the Communist Party will not allow enough people to work to distribute the food.

Dunno but when the Chinese do a rebellion they don’t just simply parade in the Great Hall. They do it up big.
“Limited Food Supply”, its starting. Who is to feed the extra 5 to 10 million illegals moving into the US by this Fall?
That’s my concern.. and the increasing cases of young athletes dying on the field, blood clotting disorders and auto-immune problems does nothing to allay my concern. Many would blame the vaccine alone for this but I believe it would be happening just with infections, the vaccines only speed up the process.

Thats a scary prospect. I have looked for statistics on re-infection for those with naturally acquired antibodies and could find next to nothing.
I understand those who had the original Covid 19 can also become infected with the Delta variety, but not the reverse.
I don’t know what to make of this latest shutdown China is enacting, but this just isn’t about Covid (I know it’s pretty obvious at this point).
What is the long term goal from this latest lockdown? Is it simple as setting up a scenario for the November midterm elections where the USA plays fast and loose with mail-in voting again?
Maybe I’m making too much out of this, but something doesn’t sit right and I refuse to believe this is merely part of some Covid prevention strategy.

If you test positive in Shanghai they drag you off to a quarantine center and kill your pets. No one else had that sort of reaction to Omicron...
Maybe a previous poster was right and this is about internal Chinese politics.... then again, I have this nagging feeling that they know something that we don’t.

I haven’t been living my life in Covid fear, but when you see stuff like this image and story coming out of China, I really begin to wonder what might be on the horizon…
Maybe this new virus or whatever is the real deal, but with the botched response to Covid by world governments people are going to be skeptical when someone screams this is the big one.
I’m more leaning towards it being a government crackdown or even war preparations.

This is NOT about covid, It is about Xi Jinping’s edit of zero tolerance - As the leader he cannot be wrong, So the cadre must produce the numbers that prove that. Numbers is the name of the game. If people stare because the Party tells them the food is contaminated that does not matter as long as the numbers prove the Leader right.
As for knowledge - they often test multiple people with the same swab - one after the other in the mandatory testing program, no matter the weather: hot cold, rain snow, line up in the hundreds to wait.

Or they could just start hunting and killing the enforcers. That would be much more effective.

Here is some pure speculation:
The original prototype for COVID was 100% fatal in human subjects.
The lab release was accidental.
The international distribution of the virus was vindictive and intentional.
The COVID genome was unstable and quickly mutated into less lethal forms.
The Chinese are worried that the virus in uncontrolled distribution could revert to a more lethal form.
The Chinese have repeatedly encountered more lethal forms of COVID in their experiments with vaccines to prevent COVID.
Their vaccine (SinoVax) is no more effective than the Western mRNA treatments in preventing COVID.
Is there any case in history where a virus mutated to become more virulent?
Some say the Black Death in the 14th century was a repeat visit of the virus that attacked Athens at the start of the Peloponnesian War and also attacked Constantinople and Italy in the reign of Justinian... we have no way of knowing that though... if that is true however, that virus did become more virulent...

Mass vaccination using a "leaky" vaccine during the course of a pandemic is a well-known selection technique that increases the lethality of a virus.
In natural evolution, subsequent generations of a virus typically become more contagious and less lethal to the population. We are dealing with something that is not natural in the COVID virus.
Mass vaccination using a "neutralizing" vaccine breaks the network of contagion and may exterminate a virus. But we do not have "neutralizing" vaccines or treatments for any coronavirus.
