I guess I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. No, wait—that’s not how it’s supposed to go. I guess I picked the wrong year to give up on the Academy Awards. What are the odds that next year’s Academy Awards will be co-hosted by Will Smith and Chris Rock? Because there’s no way the Motion Picture Academy will try the only other host who could bring back viewers: Ricky Gervais. The dilemma is obvious: if they did pick Gervais to host, no Hollywood celebrities would show up. They’d just head straight to the after-parties. In any case, the Smith-Rock memes have piled up so fast in the first 18 hours after the event that we need to have a special TWiP edition right away.

first images I have seen of the event
Will Smith slaps like a girl
Wonder if it was scripted. Was Chris smiling or was he bracing for the slap. Can’t tell.
Created drama. Never trust hollywood about anything.
Where’s the “well that escalated fast” meme?
Isn’t that why some people are saying that Will Smith is such a great actor? I don’t think there any outtakes from movies or TV shows where he slaps like a girl.
I guess this is what we are supposed to focus our idiotic attention on now?
Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.
What will they have to do next time to get some attention? I would suggest that all the entertainers get up and slap each other silly.
That might actually be good for America and the world.
It's horrible press, it won't help, it hurts their already crappy reputation. This show was the 2nd lowest audience in history.
My question is was it reported before it actually happened...like Uncle Poopy Pants “Winning” the election!
I don’t know if anyone has thought, that a black man doing this, just plays into the stereotypes of angry blacks who have poor impulse control. Just a thought.
It also plays into the stereotypes of ghetto culture, in which the worst thing you can do is “diss” , or disrespect someone.
